My fiance's interview is scheduled for August 19th in Stockholm. He tried to book the medical exam last month and the Stockholm clinic told him to email email in mid June to schedule.

Yesterday my fiance contacted the clinic to schedule the exam and they told him that the physician is fully booked up until the point in which he will be transferring to a new clinic. And that the new clinic would reach out to my fiance for scheduling purposes.

Anyone else run into this issue? My fiance does not have his vaccine records so will need test done at appt and/or receive required vaccines.

Congratulations on his interview getting scheduled!  You may want to consider checking the physician in Gothenburg.  They may have an earlier time.

My husband had his medical exam recently in Stockholm.  They scheduled it the week before his interview (similar to what you describe he could not schedule one earlier) and he too needed an antibody test for a missing shot.  At the day of the interview, the Embassy had not received his medical exam results (and another civil document he forgot that day).  They gave him a refusal notice which basically said he had up to a year to provide the missing documents.  His status changed to Refused.  The doctor's office sent the medical exam results to the Embassy electronically that next week and mailed him all of the exam documents (which you will need to enter the U.S.) about a week later.  After the Embassy received in the mail the missing civil document his status changed to Administrative Processing.  It was a quick turnaround at the Embassy for his visa to be Issued (about a week).

Forgot to add that it is unlikely he would receive any vaccines that day.  It takes a bit for the antibody test to be returned to their office.

We received NOA2 in late February 2020. We were contacted about 1 month ago for scheduling purposes and are scheduled for interview mid August. Not sure if that is helpful!

Thank you for the update. It is helpful.  Shameful how long everyone has had to wait on this process.  I am happy that you are sooo close!

I have heard in other groups that I am part of that Gothenburg Dr has lots of appointments.  It is another option.

Hi everyone,

I have a question to all of the Swedish K1's that are already in the US and have gotten married😇

I got married in April and today I got a message from Skatteverket in Kivra telling me that my name change has gone through meaning that my last name is now officially my new married name. 😍 I wanted my marriage and new last name to be official in Sweden as well, but now comes the question of what to do about my passport... The message from Skatteverket states that I need a new passport (and any other ID's that I want to use) with my new name in it, which I expected and have already started looking into...

So... I need to apply for a new passport either at the Swedish embassy in Washington D.C. or at the consulate in New York City. None of them currently have any available appointments. It's not an emergency or anything, but I was just wondering how others have done in the past and how fast you have gotten around to getting a new passport with your new name in it? How did that process go for you and if you did it during the AOS process (we're just about to send in the application this week!) did that cause any problems with that?

A lot of Swedes decided to fly to Sweden and renew their passports there, you just have to make sure that you book your plane ticket in the exact name that is in your passport. You can travel to Sweden just fine if you do that, even if you changed your name. Just make sure the passport date hasn't expired.

I had my passport done here in the US because it was easier and I didn't have the right to fly to Sweden at the time (this was way before my AP was approved). But that was in 2017 when the mobile passport station was still around, so a lot easier to get it done than it is now. My name was changed with Skatteverket in the end of December 2016 and I applied for my new passport in San Diego in February 2017.

If you can wait, wait for your AP or greencard and take a trip to Sweden and renew your passport there. In the meanwhile, keep checking the passport appointments at the embassy and NY, there will be cancellations from others from time to time, so you can snag one.

Just thought I would pass on information.  Two people in a group I am part of from Facebook received reply from Stockholm embassy.  Apparently the embassy is only working applications received to the embassy through Oct 2020 and do not expect to get past that date until later in the fall.

Hi! We are also waiting for interview scheduling :(

What is the most recent "documentarily qualified" date that anyone has heard of being scheduled for IR1/CR1? Just for reference.

The embassy recently told us that they are currently NOT accepting new cases from NVC (and haven't been for a long time), and that they are fully booked until September before they can even begin accepting any of the huge backlog of cases sitting at NVC.

Everything just sounds like it is ages away 😭

It stopped on the early October 2020.

We’re also still waiting, and we were DQed September 23rd.. But I do know that someone who DQed October 3rd had their interview in April, and we still don't know why they bypassed us 😢

Hello. I am waiting for an interview appointment to be scheduled at Stockholms embassy.

I'm wondering - does anyone know if an ongoing ADHD "investigation" could be a negative factor or somehow be negative for the medical exam or the visa in general? I.e., not having any diagnosis, but being under formal investigation to find out about it.

What could you expect to happen in that scenario?

Edit: is ADHD cause for denial, does anyone know? Seems it is considered a "mental illness" on some pages but whilst it really is a disability.
