Hello all,

My wife and I submitted our documents in January and was accepted by the NVC and we are waiting for the interview date. Any ideas on how long it is taking from anyone that turned it in within the last 3-4 months? With the consulate open again I was hoping that they'd be able to start getting interview dates again.

April and may is fully booked. They don’t know when they’re booking interview for June and July.

Do they have separate interview schedules for CR1 VS K1 or is it just all together? 😳

  • 07-06-2021 - NOA2
  • 08-19-2021 - Arrived at Embassy
  • 10-07-2021 - Checklist received
  • 10-21-2021 - Interview & Approval

Has anyone had a recent interview at the embassy in Stockholm?   We have these questions:

1.  Were you required to provide the I-864 form with the original signatures?  The interview email did not mention this form.

2.  Did you turn in the English version of your civil documents from Sweden or the Swedish language version or both?  We originally uploaded both versions.

3.  What if you also have documents from Finland?  Do they need the Finnish and English versions of the civil documents at the interview?

I had my K1 interview in March.

1. K1 has a different affidavit form, but they accepted mine, which was a photocopy. No questions asked. It also does say somewhere that wet signatures are not required during these times.

2. All documents should be in English

3. English. If you need to submit foreign language documents then you need to have them translated and certified

Seems like CR1/IR1 interviews every second month.

Now my memory is getting a bit hazy as my interview took place at the Stockholm embassy 2.5 years ago, but as far as I can remember, I had all documents in English, since those were the ones we had to upload for NVC, and the Embassy just double-checked the originals that they were not fake.

At the time of interview I had not lived in Finland for years, but did have to present a Police Certificate for both Finland and Sweden per instructions at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Finland.html

One of the police documents was in several languages by default, just can’t remember if that was the Swedish one or the Finnish one.

Getting there, slowly but surely...  (I hope )

Typographical error form filled on USCIS website 1/4/2021
Contacted USCIS if there has been any progress since THEIR error (Received a Tier 1 tracking number) 2/6/2021
Contacted USCIS again as the issue remains to be resolved (Received ANOTHER Tier 1 tracking number) 3/12/2021
Apparently USCIS chat is worthless; CALLED USCIS, Tier 1 agent promised that a Tier 2 agent would call me 4/28/2021
Received a call from a nice Tier 2 officer who said I may or may not get a correct extension letter, but just in case I would be scheduled an InfoPASS appointment 5/4/2021
Went to local USCIS service center and had to deal with a nasty and entitled customer service agent who refused to give me an I-551 stamp. National Benefits Center is supposed to mail me another I-797 within 7-10 days... So I had to waste my day, taking buses for two hours one-way just to deal with this lady's attitude? 5/7/2021

After anxiously monitoring our mailbox for a few days I DID receive a corrected I-797, w00t! All documents good to go Vaccinated Ready to visit my parents in Europe for the first time in 17 months!!  5/13/2021

The lesson: Don't use the chat for anything complicated, AND keep hassling USCIS for a response...

Thanks to everyone for advice.  My husband's interview is this week.  He has not heard from the medical exam whether he needs an additional shot (they took blood to check for antibodies).  Does anyone have a sense for how long the administrative process would be if they are just waiting on the medical exam sign-off from the doctor?

Is this foe the covid vaccine? Are people required to have it?

Hi everyone- I'm so sorry that you're all going through this! The immigration process is difficult enough without a global pandemic.

I wanted to provide some info for anyone who might find it helpful. My American friend with the Norwegian fiance  (K1) just got her P3 email this morning. She got her NOA2 approval in Feb of 2020 so it's obviously taken a long time just to get the next stage. I know there's a lot of uncertainty about how Norwegians and Danes can go interview in Sweden with the travel ban, but it looks like they're scheduling them at least. Her fiance is going to try and request they schedule his interview for August/September. Hopefully that puts them far enough out where a travel ban won't create more headaches. Below is what the email stated before it got to the checklist:

First, you must make a request for appointment.  You may schedule appointment only when we approve your request.  We ask you to make request for appointment as soon as possible.  Please note that our capacity for K-1 visa appointments is very limited and if you will not schedule appointment within 2 weeks from the date you received a checklist, you may experience a long wait time for an available appointment.  Any inquiries about scheduling an appointment must be directed to:  http://www.ustraveldocs.com/se

I've tried to read through as much of the recent posts as I can so this post isn't redundant. But having gone through this process myself, I know any bit of shared info helps.

So it looks like appointments are scheduled within 2 weeks of getting the checklist? Or does it mean you make the appointment within two weeks, but the actual appointment could be months away?

not sure yet- I'll let you know when they try to request for late summer/early fall. I read it as they want the request in within 2 weeks, but the scheduling will be confirmed for much later. I can't imagine they're asking people to come interview so soon considering the uncertainty of the travel bans.
