Hi

I emailed the embassy and they said they will be working on the CR1 visa. Thanks God!

The website says they are still working on visas but there would be no in-person interviews during their renovation period.  I fear we will all be waiting until after they are done.  The last report on here was from some who were DQ'd in Sept and got interviews in Dec/Jan.  The official response we received last month from NVC says they were working on the July DQs. Has anyone gotten an interview scheduled who was DQ'd in Oct yet?

We got DQ on the 3rd of October and still no information. Case status still shows At NVC. I am so anxious about this situation... 😢

What does ”DQ” stand for? And how long time after sending in the first application until you got your DQ?

Means Document qualified after NVC approves your documents on CEAC.
can take from couple of days to couple of months.

Hi! We just got our interview notice yesterday for the 9th of February.

For anyone interested here is our process so far:

Got DQd the 1st of October.
It’s a marriage based green card I am applying for.

Does anyone know of any Vandrarhem or Hotel in walking distance to the embassy that you would recommend? :)

Congratulations! Good luck with it all 🤗

If you don’t mind me asking, where are you from? I’m only asking because we DQed on 24th September and we still haven’t gotten our interview date, and because I’m Danish I’m worried that they’re not arranging interviews for Danes because of the entry ban 😕

So excited for you!  Hopefully we are not far behind.  (trying very hard not to get too excited)

My husband offered this advise about hotels:

"I do not know of a hotel I would recommend off the top of my head... and we do not know the travellers' budget. There are probably quite a few good ones in that general area... but "walking distance", especially in February, rather depends on how much one insists on walking in cold weather. 32 degrees on a "warm" day would be my guess, and even as low as 5 degrees might be expected.  Booking.com is recommended. Taxi or Uber if the distance seems too much to walk."

I would add that he mentioned that this is a fancier part of town and the hotels will be pricey.  You may want to consider staying in the city centre.  There is a train station exit really close to the embassy.

EDIT:  Correction to the trains from my husband:  "But no entrance or exit to any train close to embassy. A long walk. Bus number 69 comes close to the embassy, one can take that from the Central station, bus stop on Klarabergsgatan. Usually the buses are quite full."  Bottom line - take uber/taxi.

I checked this one and it is very close to the embassy : villa källhagen

or otherwise check airbnb. Hotels are quite expensive in this area

Could you tell me what supporting documents you brought to interview? as well what need to be uploaded as extra documents.
Proof of relationship should be uploaded on CEAC, or?

I stayed at STF Hostel Gärdet, it was just a 10 minute walk across the field to the embassy. A private room was just ~500 kr for a night including breakfast, but that was back in 2016. I don't know if this place even exists anymore? It was super convenient, both in closeness to the embassy and price wise.

Thank you! I’m from Sweden, I really hope the travel ban won’t affect your case, but I haven’t at least heard or read anything to that extent from the embassy or in their newsletters. When reading the forums about when other people get the interview notice, sometimes the embassy seems to schedule some before others even though someone were DQd a few days ahead of someone else. So you never know 🙏🙏 good luck to you guys.
