So that would be the email I got after my I-130 was approved and my NVC case was created? The email containing my CEAC login information

Not an email. If you log back into your DS-260 application online via ceac.state.gov, it should be the final page of your application. You should be able to click on 'Print Confirmation' from the Confirmation page.

I've taken a screenshot of what the screen looks like in the browser... you would need to navigate to this page from within your application and click on 'Print Confirmation'.

At least it's an update. The K1 visa lawsuit against the Dept. of State is at least making a point to get the plaintiffs in the case through the process. Could be good news to come for everyone else too (least that's what the lawyers in the case said).

Fingers and toes crossed.

Has any K1 heard anything positive from the embassy lately? 😇

We emailed them about two weeks ago, but it was all the same then about not being able to process K1 visas unless you belong to an exception to the travel ban. I was thinking if there's any point for us to email them again soon, though...?

But what does this mean? Is it or is not okay for them to process K1 visas while the travel ban is still in place as long as someone would be willing to quarantine in a non travel ban country for 14 days? 😕

I think right now it means that those who are not named in the lawsuit are still waiting. Helsinki updated their website saying that those in the lawsuit to schedule their interviews.

I'm reading the court opinion now, the lawyers did a Facebook Live end of last week as well which basically said that embassies citing the travel ban as a reason for not processing K1 were acting unlawfully, so they have to process the visa, but it's up the to applicant to figure out how to get to the US, as CBP have the final say and all that.

But if they were acting unlawfully, wouldn't that mean that they're still acting unlawfully concerning all the visa applicants that weren't in the lawsuit? 😕

That's what I don't understand... Processing those applicants first would be one thing, but to continue doing something that's against the law is just messed up... Or did I miss something? 😅

I think you got it, lol. Please understand, I'm not a lawyer, and the case isn't like.... decided yet? So the embassies I guess can still technically do this, but probably shouldn't because I don't think the Dept. of State is going to want to continue to defend it. And the fact this is up on their website now, I think is good news.

The case outlines that the presidential proclamations ban the entry, not the processing/issuance of visas. So basically embassies have to do their jobs and get everything done. It's up to the visa holder to time it so it doesn't expire, and of course follow the travel ban(s).

Yeah, but the embassies are all working under the Department of State and do stuff after their guidelines, from what I understand. So it's weird then that the Department of State only mentioned the ones in the lawsuit as those who could get interviews. But hopefully this will change then as things are being decided. 😇

Officially joining in here! My I-130 was approved today. We have a joint sponsor, and now I need to gather all the documents.... let the games begin!

Good luck! I took way too long in gathering the documents and sending the DS-260. Make sure you have a US bank account, and pay the fees ASAP. That's what took a while for us ;) Good luck!

I'm just curious... Those of you who are doing CR1/IR1 and have had your interviews recently, have your cases been expedited or is the embassy working on all of those cases?
