Hey! DQ'ed on 8th of September, still no interview date. Someone DQ'ed on 1st of September got an interview a little while ago, but I'm still waiting. You're more than welcome to write to the embassy, they'll tell you how far they are (and please post it here, I'm anxious as well, but have already written to them ;) ).

Cannot answer your other question as I have not been at interview yet.

Awe man, hope you guys get an interview soon too. We will definitely post here if we hear anything, we are also so anxious to know where they are at.

We had our interview August 25 (our DQ date was in February, our original interview was April 1 but it got cancelled because of covid), my husband didn’t bring the I130 documents, he took some of the same photos from the I130 and some new ones, that was it in terms of evidence, and they barely even looked at it anyways. Everything else he brought was just the required documents (marriage certificate, birth certificate, police report, etc)

Good to know, thank you 🙏 and good to know they didn’t need the I-130 documents either. Always so tricky to know what they will need. By the way, did they send you your interview date by mail (post) or through email?

No problem! Bringing relationship evidence is definitely a must but it absolutely doesn’t have to be the same evidence from the I130. All interview notices are sent to the beneficiary’s email, nothing by post

Do we have any other K1 here that's also waiting for the embassy to issue the visa after the interview?

I know a lot of people are waiting to be able to schedule their interview and continue with the process, but I already had my interview (March 12th) and have just been waiting ever since... At the interview they had just heard about the travel ban the same morning and no one really knew that much, and they were still waiting for my medical to come in anyways. The woman that interviewed me said congratulations and everything, though, and a week later we got an email saying they had received the medical... but that they can't issue the visa yet due to the travel ban. We emailed them in August and asked about it because it had been so long, and they just replied that the situation is the same and that they can't take action on any K1 visa case right now. It feels like we literally stumbled on the finish line.

So... anyone else in a similar situation? And all we would need to do when things get started again is the medical, right? Has anyone heard anything?

Do I need to get all vaccinations before the medical appointment or will the Doctor tell me which ones I need? I have taken all of the ones they give to kids in Sweden (born 1991) are there any additional ones I need?

I too had all the typical vaccines you get as a kid in Sweden. I was sure I needed a tetanus booster though as it had been longer than 10 years since I last had one. So to save time and money I got it done at my local vårdcentral some weeks prior to the medical, and asked for written proof that I had gotten the booster. That way I just needed to show the letter to the doctor at the medical and didn't need any extra shots there.

Unfortunately I wasn't born in Sweden and the cranky panel doctor in Stockholm didn't like the vaccination records from my school years. So he sent me to the building across the street to get me checked on what antibodies [sorry, memories getting hazy already] I had, and that cost a lot as far as I can recall. If you have the vaccination records in order, they know exactly what has been administered and when.

I went later on to get an additional vaccination booster at a random clinic in the suburbs and got a little booklet with a stamp on it for that. If I remember correctly (hopefully not giving you incorrect information), I have to keep a record of this vaccination if I ever want to become a naturalized citizen in the US.

Getting there, slowly but surely...  (I hope )

No, you're good, vaccinations have nothing to do with the naturalization process.

I found this on the Skatteverket website   -" It must appear on the certificate that the marriage ceremony is approved and registered in the country of marriage. You will send a certified copy of the certificate and cover letter with your details and contact details. The certificate does not need to be translated. If any of you have never been registered in Sweden, you should also attach a copy of your passport."

Two questions:

1. We have a certified copy of our marriage license from here in Texas.  What does it mean when it says it must be approved and registered in the country of marriage?  Is the county approval valid or is there a federal agency that has to certify this too?

2. I live in the U.S. and have never been registered in Sweden.  Does that mean I need to get a passport and register or does that just mean we are ok because my husband is registered there?

Follow-up:  My husband called the agency and they advised us to submit the certified copy of our marriage license and a copy of my driver license and a copy of my husband's passport.  We are waiting to see if this works.  They could not tell him with certainty if I will need to obtain a passport.  Fingers crossed!

We are wondering what my husband should do.   He has had all of his shots as a kid in Finland but cannot find any records of this and now lives in Sweden.  I think he should get to a doctor now and take any shots he will need before the interview is scheduled and he needs to go to the "official" doctor.  Any advice?

I had the shots taken years and years ago at school (in Finland like your husband) and having moved apartments and countries it was struggle to find them. Even then panel doctor thought my paper records were of no particular use even though the information was also written in Swedish.

I don’t know if your husband is going to have his medical in Gothenburg or Stockholm, but if anything’s unclear, they’ll send you over to get checked (more 💸) which additional vaccinations are needed. I got a 221(g) at the actual interview because my exam results hadn’t made it to embassy on time, but that was because I needed to get that extra lab work and a document from a psychiatrist who was treating me. Even then, my visa was issued just a few days after the actual interview. Not having an idea that I needed extra paperwork, I probably scheduled my medical too close to the embassy interview. I don’t know what kind of a bearing does Covid have on all this, though.

Just make sure that the medical isn’t scheduled TOO early so that your husband can immigrate before it expires (6 months from the date of the medical, right?).

Hey everyone, so fun to be part of this group!
We were DQ the 1st of October and are waiting to get an interview date (marriage/spouse green card). Anyone who knows where the Stockholm embassy is at with processing interview dates?
We are also making sure we have all the paperwork needed for the interview and we wanted to check with you guys if anyone brought or intend to bring original documents proving relationship from the I-30? Or is it more important with more current evidence (like from the last few months not included in the  I-130)? Any tips?

We were DQ'd on 3rd of October.  Have not wanted to email NVC - they get enough requests but from the looks of things we are probably not going to get interviews until Feb??  This is purely a guess on my part.  Will let you know if we hear anything.  Good luck to you!   (P.S. you are asking the same questions we are about what docs to take to interview.  I really do not want any more delays and we already had to provide a couple of docs more than one way the first time around before they were accepted.)

Dr Einar in Göteborg didn't look at any of my vaccination records tbh, he just filled out that I have had all the regular vaccines every Swedish kid gets. So if you're having your medical in Gbg you probably don't need a whole lot of proof. He's much more relaxed about all that than the clinic in Sthlm.
