Thank's for you're input, but I think you're mistaken about Gothenburg.

I got an email from the NVC today which this link to a PDF file where it specifically says that Gothenburg is one of the two options. I then emailed the US embassy in the afternoon to ask them if I istead could choose to go to the clinic in Copenhagen (no), and in their reply they specified that the options are Gothenburg and Stockholm ("We have embassy assigned panel physicians in Gothenburg and Stockholm.") and after that I took a look at the webpage for the clinic in Gothenburg, where it says clearly that they do medical exams for US visas. Link here.

For me personally it's less travel to Gothenburg and a bit cheeper to go there, but I could got to Stockholm if I get the impression that that's a "better" clinic than Gothenburg.

Yes I am sorry. I meant they are not using the one in Malmö. Replying while at work is not ideal I was rushed :P they used to have one in Malmö. Now they're only using Gothenburg and Stockholm.

I'm from Skåne myself so I chose Göteborgwhen I did my medical in August last year..

Kungsportsläkarna in Götebotg is great! Very nice clinic and professional people working there, and Einar the doctor is awesome! He marks your vaccination worksheet "complete" without hesitation, he's very friendly and jokes around a lot. He also sends you a copy of the complete medical report instead of just the DS-3025 if you ask for it, I asked for that as I was curious to see the whole thing with all results etc.

When I did my medical I paid 2800kr for everything (needed no shots) including the x-rays. When I contacted the clinic in Stockholm they wanted 3300kr for the medical alone, plus 500kr for the x-rays. In Gothenburg he sends you over to the x-ray place after the medical, so they know who you are already when you show up as Einar has already contacted them - very smooth, no wait,no fee to pay, nothing.

In Stockholm you need to contact the x-ray place yourself and I think you need to go there before the medical and also pay for it.

Btw, this so called medical doesn't include any major check-up, it's not like surgery exactly, so there's no need to be picky really. You just go there, they take your urine, blood and blood pressure, ask you a few questions, sends you to another place to have your x-rays and you're done. It's really not a big deal which clinic you go to, they hardly even touch you, very easy and fast done.

Unless they have changed it the X-ray in Stockholm is drop in, no need to contact them you just show up and explain why you're there and yes, you go there before the exam. They are used to people coming for visa related x-rays so it went really smooth. I got there when they opened and then had my exam after that. I paid 2950 SEK for exam and 450 SEK for X-ray. I also had to get a tetanus shot that I don't remember the cost of but I remember that it was cheaper than I expected it to be.

Yes they still use Gothenburg, they are cheaper than Sthlm. I would have gone there since I lived in GBG but they were fully booked unfortunately... I wish I would have waited.

You can't call the clinic in Sthlm, you have to email them... which makes booking an appointment take time...I had a lot of problems with the communication with the Doctor and the staff at the Sthlm clinic, which resulted in them never sending my medical to the embassy. I had to call them and ask why it wasn't sent to sort it all out.... delayed me by some weeks... They also didn't give me the DS-3025 when I was there. I had to request it per email afterwards. I asked for a copy of my whole medical and they said they aren't allowed to give that (bs... and I know they do in GBG and lots of other places)..

Just my personal experience...

That is so weird that they would refuse to give you a copy. I didn't get one because I didn't know I was supposed to have a copy. When I went to my interview I received a copy of the medical from them.

Hej everyone,

Anyone know how to get Swedish vaccination record? My husband says he got some vaccinations at the doctor, some at school, and not sure if there is a central database for this kind of thing. In the US, our pediatrician has this information, then it gets faxed around....but seeing as Sweden has so much data connected to the personnummer, shouldn't this information be stored somewhere?

Depends when you're born. :) If you're born before the computer age, which really isn't that long ago, some vaccination records are gonna be hard to get unless he saved the paper record. I'm born in the 70's and couldn't get hold of fine. If that's the case, your husband needs to take a blood test to show he has immunity or re-take the vaccinations.

Well the ds-3025 isn't supposed to not be given. It has the clear instructions to the doc to give a copy to the patient.

You mean the copy in the sealed envelope from the embassy? Sorry I'm a bit confused since we all get that,  or do you mean something else?

Yea I think it's weird overall that you can't get a copy of the results of a medical you pay SEK3000 for to have done... and it's my body isn't it... shouldn't I own the right to that??? I told them that and they insisted they weren't allowed.. *sigh*

They gave me the copy of what I am assuming is the same stuff they put into the envelope. It had all my vaccinations, x-ray results and the notes that the doctor wrote about me during the medical.

I know it is so weird. And it's like this through the whole process. Some get RFE's for stuff when another person sent in the exam same thing and did not get RFE. Some get denied for stuff while someone gets approved for the same. Some receive a copy of the medical and some don't.

Yeah I have to calculate exactly when my deadline is and put it into my calendar because every time I try to calculate it in my head I get a completely different date and then someone says "You mean January right?" For the longest time I thought I was due in November. No idea how I could possibly think it was 90 days between November and March... My brain is weird. But thanks! I'm trying to not freak out about it too soon :P
