The list of documents needed is sent in the appointment email -- there may be a couple differences in the documents required between applicants.

 

My husband brought/needed to present:

-a photo (passport/visa size)

-his passport

-original marriage certificate

-original birth certificate with certified translation

-original police certificate from Denmark (police certificate from Indonesia, where he lived previously, is "unavailable" according to travel.state.gov reciprocity and civil documents by country -- he did not provide one/was not required to provide one, but we did provide an explanation)

-evidence of support (original I-864 and supporting financial documentation)

-since I was married previously 20 years ago, he had to present my original divorce decree

-evidence of ongoing relationship (which was easy, since we live together in Denmark)

-evidence that my job is transferrable to the US (since I work outside the US)

-pre-paid waybill for return of passport/documents (we had not received the instructions for this in time to present it at the interview -- we emailed it immediately afterwards)

-medical examination results (provided by the clinic)

My husband just got approved! His medical had not arrived yet (he only got it done 8 days ago) but that's okay, he needs his passport to travel back to Denmark so I assume the medical will have arrived by the time his passport gets to the embassy. So beyond happy!! Finally we are done 18 months later
I haven't gotten the chance to call him since he needed to catch his flight back home, but I will let you all know the specifics when I get to talk to him

I’m from Denmark too but applied for K1. Very mixed feelings, reading all these spouse visas getting issued, no offense. I’m so very happy for you!  
 

Do you mind me asking, is your case being processed as a routine or do you have some special reason? I’m just trying to find a little hope since my fiancé and I got trapped in this COVID mess after our petition was approved right when it all started 😣

Thank you! I hope you'll get yours soon as well  Ours was just a routine interview, spousal visas are now being processed as normal in Stockholm since they are mission critical cases, I'm not sure about the status of K1s at Stockholm right now.. We got caught up in it too, we originally had an interview scheduled for April 1, but it got cancelled 2 weeks before due to all the embassies shutting down, it took almost 5 months for us to get an interview scheduled again, we've been apart 10 months now 😢

My husband had his interview this morning in Stockholm -- his appointment was at 9:30am. We arrived early (9:05) and he was asked to wait outside (there are seats outside) until they called him, which was at 9:40. That's when he entered the Embassy/security. I waited outside the whole time. He came back out around 11:05am. His visa was not approved at this time/additional administrative processing is required.

 

Yesterday, the Embassy sent him an email (that he missed while we were traveling to Stockholm) with information about the pre-paid waybill we needed to provide, to have his passport/documents returned to him in Copenhagen. Since he didn't provide the waybill, he was sent with instructions of how to do so -- we completed this right away.

 

From our understanding, the reason he was not approved was due to the officer questioning the validity of his (original) birth certificate. The officer retained his passport, original birth certificate, and the certified translation. 

 

There was a female who performed his document check -- he didn't feel that she was that friendly (e.g. she created confusion when she thought he didn't speak English -- he is fluent). She asked him multiple questions about his original birth certificate (e.g. when and how he got it ... it's literally the original ...). She asked him about my employer (an international public organization, i.e. United Nations agency), if my income is paid for by Danish authorities (no) or the UN (yes), and if my job is transferrable to the US (yes). She claimed there was a discrepancy with his mother's maiden name on the documents (there isn't) and that there would be to be a correction (I still don't understand why). To add insult to injury, his mother died several weeks ago. That's not info that was relevant to update, apparently.

 

The interviewer was male and ultimately told my husband that there is no issue with the legitimacy of our relationship (questions were asked about how we met, where we met, how he asked for my phone number, if he'd met my family, how many times, when was the last time he saw them, where/when we got married, how long we've lived in Copenhagen, how long we lived together before Copenhagen, where we lived before, what I did for work when we met, my age.....etc.).

 

Anyway, we're both rather disappointed, but... we'll wait and see.

I'm sorry it didn't go all according to plan but the important part is they know your relationship is legit and they didn't say anything was wrong with the financial part and i'm sure this is something that can be fixed easily remember NVC did the hard part. I understand though being disappointed but I think it will be temporary. I will think good and positive thoughts your way and be hopeful for you both hugs.

I had my visa interview in Stockholm on the 24th of July. The interview process was quite quick and easy, but I was asked to send some additional documents. That part took a while, but I was told that my visa is approved on the 13th of August. I agree with the comments that the receptionist ( the lady) was quite rude and difficult to deal with, but the man that conducted the interview was super nice and easy going. I am currently waiting for my passport to reach Oslo.. it is taking a while.. anyone know how long that could take? I mean Stockholm is just 6 hours away from Oslo 😬😂 The whole process has been draining and I can’t wait to finally move to California  I am happy to answer any questions.

Oh wow California always looks like such a pretty city I bet you'll have a great time there. I am curious though what is your DQ date if I may ask just out of curiosity sake lol

He does not need passport to travel back home to DK.

OMG Im super excited I just recieved a email that our interview has been cancelled but we've never scheduled one. I hope they send the expedite is approved email and then the Embassy interview appointment date email very soon it would make us so happy. I'll keep you posted

What time of day did everyone in Scandinavia receive your "Expedited was approved email" and your "Interview appointment date email". I would love to know please so I wouldn't be such a anxious person checking my email every 5 minutes lol Thank you 😊

Im confused. I checked the website where I registered the address for the passport delivery and I found out that the visa category changed from CR1 to K visa. I'm worried now. K visa is for fiancee. Anyone relate?

We got the “interview was cancelled” and “expedite was approved” emails a day apart. Once we got the “expedite was approved” email, the case status changed to “In Transit.” The day after, it changed to “Ready.” The interview appointment email/letter came 2 days after that (I also noticed that the case status was updated that same day the email was sent).
