Hi, I found this article that might help you.

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/family-preference.html#2

Is Residence in the U.S. Required for the U.S. Sponsor?

Yes. As a U.S. sponsor/petitioner, you must maintain your principal residence (also called domicile) in the United States, which is where you plan to live for the foreseeable future. Living in the U.S. is required for a U.S. sponsor to file the Affidavit of Support, with few exceptions. To learn more, review the Affidavit of Support (I-864 or I-864EZ) Instructions.

I'm not really sure how your residency will change if you're only going to Europe to study, but I'm guessing not. So I don't think it will matter. But to be on the safe side, you can call USCIS to verify. :)

Thank you! Do you know how to contact them the fastest way?

I'm not sure who you need to contact, but here are the NVC's and USCIS' customer service phone numbers for your reference:

NVC - 603-334-0700

USCIS - 800-375-5283

Sent my petition for I-i30 today for my mom, was super nervous and double checked to make sure everything was included.  Compared to the k1 visa I petitioned for this seems like less paperwork was needed

Hi,

I am from CA and my case was routed to TSC as well.

Based on what I've read, they distributed the cases to different service center to balance their work load.

Wait for the message from the USCIS after they received your documents.

Good luck to all of us. :)

Oh I see. Thanks! I've been wondering for the reason why, lol.

Anyways, based on the website for TSC, they are currently taking petitions from July of last year. Is that mean I have to wait 6-7 months before they even start/open my petition case? Is there any other way to make it faster? lol. I just can't wait to get my parents here with me :)

That timeline was "as of Nov 30". There are November filers who had been approved already. There are some who got approved in less than 2 months....Hopefully, we will receive an approval soon.. ?????

Hello everyone !

This is my first post here, as I just signed up.

Our I-130 was sent on Januray the 30th to the Phoenix Lockbox, due to be delivered today... (And yes, I'm anxiously refreshing the UPS page regularly!).

Looking forward to receiving the first NOA and, most importantly where our case will land.

Fingers crossed ! Let the nerve wracking get started...

And good luck to everyone  :-)

Hello everyone!

I would like to join this group. I filed my mom's I-130 petition in late December after years and years of visitor visa denials. My priority date is December, 27th 2016 and NOA is dated Jan 9th.

It's much more tolerable when you're with others on this journey.

Wishing everyone success!
