Hi thanks again for the update. Just a quick question.. did you have to submit the police clearance to NVC ? Or it's needed at the interview only ? Good luck!!!

To those who are curious what the next steps are after the USCIS approval, here's my NVC timeline (so far):   06/13/17 - I-130 approved 07/20/17 - got my NVC case ID and invoice # over

You submit a copy to NVC and the beneficiary takes the original to the interview.

Hi, where do you get PC from and when is the good time please? - PC is done by the beneficiary in their country, normally issued by the police personnel, A good time would be when your documents are transferred to NVC (unless you are adjusting in the USA then this is covered by another process).  Also PC is time sensitive so you don't want to do it too early and then things slow down and it gets outdated.  Another point to consider is, you can always do an emergency PC request, depending on the country, you can usually get this back within a week, which is sufficient time between NVC getting the documents from USCIS and you submitting your supporting docs to NVC.  Hope this helps.

NBI is basically the same depending on your country.  Make sure though to get a letter of explanation from the NBI if the report will say/says 'No Criminal Record", also AKA included for any name change.

Just an update - my mom's documents are now at the embassy and NVC status says 'READY'.  Now we sit and wait for medical and interview appointments in September.

 I'm about to gather all the documents to sent to NVC, however, I can't see where I can print the cover letter sheet. Anyone have the link for the cover letter? Thank you in advance!

Hi! You should be able to print out the cover letter from the CEAC website... After you paid your fees or after filling out your DS260, on the very last page there should be a link where you can print the cover letter. Hope this helps!
