Just curious... do any of you have a tentative wedding date? Any wedding plans made?

We have the church reserved for December 16th, but are hoping that it can be sooner than that - maybe as soon as October. My pastor knows that the date might need to move because of the visa and his arrival. I have my dress and have started to buy a few decorations. My friends and I are having a planning party next week to get the details nailed down. Our goal is to be "ready" to go with about a 2-3 month notice (we won't be waiting until day 90 to get married; probably about 30-45 days after he arrives). I have a very small family, all of whom live out of town, so it will be a small wedding.

Anyone else?

Hi! Many other users would suggest not to make any plans but I live in Las Vegas so it was easy for us to find a wedding package that we liked. We reserved a date and they will only charge us $50 to change. I am a huge planner so I couldn't resist making a "tentative" plan :D

Hello! My fiance is from Bulgaria, well i am too but I am the petitioner living in the States, so we are close neighbors! :) We also sent our package on Jan 18th, they received it on the 20th and I got my notice on the 24th, so our dates are pretty much at the same time! I'll keep my fingers crossed we get approved quickly!

Eh dobre mi stava da se vidi o6te edin Bulgarin na tozi site, 6te stiskam palci za vas:D. I'm Bulgarian as well, so is my fiancee, but she has lived in Poland pretty much her entire life, so our process has been fun with traveling back and forth for birth certificates etc..

I just called NVC this morning, 4/17, and they told me that my case was received. Interesting thing that I called them exactly 2 weeks after my NOA2, on Thursday, 4/13 and they did not have my case yet. So it looks like it takes a little over 2 weeks to go from NOA2 to NVC

Both times I called, the phone was answered immediately, no waiting whatsoever. Both times the ladies on the phone were super courteous and helpful. They assured me that it will be just a couple days before the case is sent over to Kiev. Cases are transmitted electronically and they are on a quota schedule to push out visa applications. So there should be minimal dwell period.

My timeline so far:

  • 01/06 - I-129F package sent via FedEx
  • 01/09 - I-129F package received at USCIS Lewisville, TX facility
  • 01/13 - $535 check cashed
  • 01/16 - NOA1 - Received e-mail and text message my paperwork was submitted to California Service Center
  • 03/29 - NOA2
  • 04/17 - NVC received application

For others with Ukrainian fiances, the embassy website is really helpful.

Step by step instructions are here:

K-1 visa application package is here:

Points of contact for police reports are here:

Good luck!

Yes, the processing times on VJ, seem to be way to optimistic these days, go on December and you will see plenty over 100 days with no word. Today I am at 115, nothing yet,,,,,,,
