I have a couple questions about this.  Is this trying to say we can fill out the online DS-160 form before the beneficiary recieves the packet from their countries embassy?  Essentially saving lots of time between case being assigned a number and beneficiary receiving the instructions from the embassy?  Anything I can do to speed the process up I'll do, but I still don't know this part of the process very well so I'm still researching and asking questions.

Also, it says using the case number to search for status at the CEAC, what status are we looking for?  Just a case number assigned status?  Then go immediately to filling out the DS-160?

Lastly, will filling out the DS-160 also mean scheduling medical and interview too?  All before the embassy send the beneficiary the paperwork?  This doesn't seem right to me because doesn't the embassy need to process the petition themselves first?  So I guess I'm wondering what affect the above quote has and what it is trying to suggest?

Just a little confused and hoping I can get some help clearing my head up :)  I'm hoping to get my NOA2 this week, so I'm really anxious and getting lots in my head right now... :P

Once you have the case number from the visa center, you can track your file.  Once tracking says "ready" it means the embassy has received your application and has entered it into their system.  Once  it reads ready , you are free to fill out the DS160.  Once  you finish and pay your application fee, you are able to schedule your medical and interview date.  You do not need to wait for official packet in the mail.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply.  From what I understand, depending on how slow the embassy and mailing system is, doing it by this method could legitmately save 1 or 2 weeks from the process! :o  That's a great tip (if I'm understanding it right.)

Thank you!

Received the NOA1 on January 19, so hoping the NOA2 arrives soon.  It looks like some of January is starting to get approved, so that's encouraging.  I'm going to visit my fiancée and her daughter at the end of the month, so we're both hoping for some good news before then.  I want to be there for her interview, so we're hoping this is the last visit prior to her interview.

Hey! We have the same NOA1 date. What was your received date? I was hoping to have my fiancé in Texas by the end of June/early July but now I'm starting to think that's ambitious seeing that you are saying August. So I'm hoping August is a reasonable date. It seems so far away.

Hi!

My bad, the received date is the 14th but the NOA1 date is the 16th. I just want it to be all done by August, but if it comes before it's even better! You never know!

I am OK with the "process" of being vetted that we all go through to get our K1 visa.

If it was too easy, it does not have value, right?  It angers me to no extent how some walk across into the USA or shipped to "Safe Cities" to instantly have citizenship status... And collect services such as free rent, food, education, legal services, cash etc., (OK, Perhaps another topic for another time or thread.)

So back to present reality 101:

I know My Fiance Grace is a nervous wreck at times, especially now she is disappointed questioning me, herself, and the system.  (As well as a lot of OFW in HK saying all this is fake, kidding her, and hard for her to save face and keep saying it will be soon.  And let's face it most of the other females are just jealous, too.) Even some in her family now thinking something is wrong too???  My family is anxious as well?  No one understands the wait period and lack of feedback we all get to a review date.  I am like approve us, give me an RFE even, I'm ready, we have proof of what's needed, I spent time with her we talk every day, etc., and we "fit the profile" to be together with no problems.

I am 55, she is 41, we want to get on with our lives together too.

That said... And realizing it's more intense as a Philippina thing.   hahahaha Drama, It's true! And I don't wanna go into Tampo either. (other Pinoy men know EXACTLY what I mean lol )  I am trying to give her assurance it is soon as others around us finally being reviewed, we should be soon!

Any advice to calm her down?  She takes this sooo personally! What do you tell others around you, and especially to your fiance, that it just takes time, please relax?

Roger

Roger,

The same with my Filipina fiance. There are two things to consider. First, the cultural differences between you and her. Second, the magnitude of the life change this opportunity means to her.

Westerners tend to take conflict more head on. We, at times, can be ambivalent to what others think. For the Philippines, not the same sometimes. Families, friends, neighbors, even strangers all seem to pay attention and be interested in what is going on in someone else's life. Thus, their opinions, albeit positive or negative, carries weight given the communal nature of the culture.

Marriage is a huge life change event for both. The K1 process is stressful for both. The waiting, challenges, expenses, and the process are shared by both in the relationship. However, while this represents a great opportunity for you, it is more significant for her. This is represents the ability to be loved and cared for; perhaps like never before in her life. It is an opportunity to realize hopes and dreams for her and her children (if applicable). It is a fairy tale coming to life. Therefore, any issue that may arise, real or imagined, represents a threat to her dreams and opportunity for the relationship she desires.

Best advice: Listen to her. Don't try to talk her out of her fears and anxiety as it may be perceived as being dismissive of her feelings. Lead by example.  Demonstrate calmness and patience. When you do offer input, discuss the positive things that have occurred. Reassure her of your commitment and your love for her.

It is okay to plan for adversity, but do not obsess about the possibility of adversity. Having a plan enables you to address adversity with a desired positive outcome.

Regards,

William

Yay congratulations!!!

Keep us updated so we have an idea of the timeline after the NOA2, do you think you'll get your visa before mid July?

I don't think it will be that quick, however that would be awesome. Once you have your noa2 things will move faster but they're are still steps to go through. (So I have read) I'm going to get a start on my vaccination form (proof) and my police check so I have that done. Not to sure when I'm supposed to do the ds-160 and or how much :/

Btw I lived in the U.S more than 6 months for my studies, so I need a background clearance from the FBI to bring to the interview, it takes more than 3 months to get it, so if that's your case too, don't forget to do that now!

It's shouldn't be for me, I have never lived in the U.S. also I have no record and have never been in trouble with the law. I think they would only need a regular police check.

Yah I was nervous about it but sometimes patience is key. You should be hearing back within a week or 2. My approval came a week or so quicker than we had expected. Good luck though 😊😊

Hey you, my NOA1 is January 23rd and I'm from Germany. Did you got approved before the estimate time that the visa journey 'told' you? I'm just trying to figure out if I'll hear from them end of April like the visa journey says since a lot of Germans in our forum got approved from January ..

You need a police clearance for every country you lived in more than 6 month pass the age of 18! For the US, it's processed by the FBI and for some reasons the processing time is pretty long.
