Yes- my received date was February 14th and my NOA1 was the 16th.  I am moving to Dallas, texas, how about you? Not sure how my body is going to adapt to all that heat! Lol

Oh wow Texas! Lol I'm moving to a small town in New York State. It's in the Catskills mountains very beautiful. The weather is very much similar to the weather here in southwestern Ontario so I'll be okay. I don't think I'd do so well in Texas kind of heat lol

You couldn't illustrate a better caption on just how I am feeling at this moment.

Yes we should be thankful USCIS has started approving some of our cases, and we also need to be sympathetic to the many December and some November filers who are still awaiting their NOA2.

While trying to keep an optimist attitude, I just looked back at some of the September and October filers where many received their NOA2 approval in 30 days or less. Not sure if this was because their were fewer filers back then or not. Their are not stats to look at since no one had cracked the code back then of being able to download details of the USCIS monthly / daily stats.

I needed to vet our frustration here to try and understand why filers 6 months ago were receiving NAO2 approval in under 30 days and here the majority of us sit over 90 days and still counting?????

Not to rub salt in the wound but we all paid a major price increase when filing only to receive poorer service?????

Us January Filers, including those Filers in November and December who have not been approved can do nothing but just sit back and hope that our file, or better yet our lottery ticket gets picked tonight.

I have traveled back to the Philippines twice to see my finance since filing our K-1 Visa, just returning 2 weeks ago.  It's so tough saying goodbye and being apart from someone you love with all of your being with no control over when we will see our NOA2 and begin moving this process forward to finally be with the person we love so much. Like I said to my fiancee, just keep these time fresh in your mind so that when we do finally cross the finish line we will never forget the physical pain we know too well now of being apart from one another. I know for sure if all of us always hold on to the memories of the here and now this will only make for a solid relationship going forward.

Even after receiving our NOA2 our work has really only just started. At least from this point things move in a more logical manner and we take some of the control into our own hands with setting our appointments for medical, embassy and in the Philippines the required CFO.

BTW anyone looking to do their CFO in Cebu, if you have the afternoon appointment at 2 PM your flight needs to arrive Cebu airport by 8 AM to meet the noon check in. Even though the CFO office is only about 30 miles from the airport, it took us 2 hours sitting in dead stop traffic to reach the CFO office and the directions on the CFO website are horrible.

After missing our morning flight we were turned away because we arrived after the noon check in time. Also, I was escorting my fiancee to the seminar and was rudely told by the guard at the front door that men are not allowed to attend the seminar. Save the hassles that we encountered and do the required CFO seminar in Manila. Their office is closer to Manila airport.  I'd still allow at least 2 hours from Manila Airport for either a morning or afternoon appointment. Better yet fly in the evening before and stay at one of the many hotels that are close to the CFO office ensuring you make the seminar.

We are very thankful for this forum and grateful to all of you that contribute. The old saying "misery likes company".  You are all in our prayers for a speedy NOA2 approval.

I think the increase in filers since September and October has 3 main reasons, which has bogged the system down for us November - January filers.  For one, big influx of petitions to beat the big price increase.  Two, influx of petitions to beat the immigration changes coming with our new president.  And three, the new administrations affect on the USCIS review process.  Between those three things, I believe the system got bogged down.

I'm a January 4th filer and January 11th NOA1.  So, my 90 day anniversary of NOA1 is tomorrow.  I'm hoping I'm past all the delays and waits to finally get reviewed and approved.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes that makes sense on the three points you highlighted.

Ah we both have the same NOA1 date of Jan 11th. Well good luck to all of us. Hopefully we will all hear good news soon.

Hello everyone!

Congrats to all for your engagement!

My NOA1 is February 14th (of course haha), I am hoping to get my visa by mid August, do you think that's possible?

Hey! We have the same NOA1 date. What was your received date? I was hoping to have my fiancé in Texas by the end of June/early July but now I'm starting to think that's ambitious seeing that you are saying August. So I'm hoping August is a reasonable date. It seems so far away.

I have a couple questions about this.  Is this trying to say we can fill out the online DS-160 form before the beneficiary recieves the packet from their countries embassy?  Essentially saving lots of time between case being assigned a number and beneficiary receiving the instructions from the embassy?  Anything I can do to speed the process up I'll do, but I still don't know this part of the process very well so I'm still researching and asking questions.

Also, it says using the case number to search for status at the CEAC, what status are we looking for?  Just a case number assigned status?  Then go immediately to filling out the DS-160?

Lastly, will filling out the DS-160 also mean scheduling medical and interview too?  All before the embassy send the beneficiary the paperwork?  This doesn't seem right to me because doesn't the embassy need to process the petition themselves first?  So I guess I'm wondering what affect the above quote has and what it is trying to suggest?

Just a little confused and hoping I can get some help clearing my head up :)  I'm hoping to get my NOA2 this week, so I'm really anxious and getting lots in my head right now... :P

I've understood that yes, the beneficiary can fill DS-160 even before packet arrives. You can work on it and save it, just don't try to submit it yet.

Also, scheduling the medical depends on the country. Some let you do it before you've received the letter from the Embassy, others don't.

To speed the process I have already collected all the police records from countries I've lived in (except Tajikistan, doing that today :)), gotten my vaccination record, and my fiance has collected all the paperwork needed for the Affidavit of Support.

Yesterday we called USCIS to request for an expedite, though its probably not going to make any difference at this point :D We learned on Friday that my fiance will be moving abroad on government orders in August, so our life will get considerably more difficult if I'm not in the US by then!! Yikes!

I am OK with the "process" of being vetted that we all go through to get our K1 visa.

If it was too easy, it does not have value, right?  It angers me to no extent how some walk across into the USA or shipped to "Safe Cities" to instantly have citizenship status... And collect services such as free rent, food, education, legal services, cash etc., (OK, Perhaps another topic for another time or thread.)

So back to present reality 101:

I know My Fiance Grace is a nervous wreck at times, especially now she is disappointed questioning me, herself, and the system.  (As well as a lot of OFW in HK saying all this is fake, kidding her, and hard for her to save face and keep saying it will be soon.  And let's face it most of the other females are just jealous, too.) Even some in her family now thinking something is wrong too???  My family is anxious as well?  No one understands the wait period and lack of feedback we all get to a review date.  I am like approve us, give me an RFE even, I'm ready, we have proof of what's needed, I spent time with her we talk every day, etc., and we "fit the profile" to be together with no problems.

I am 55, she is 41, we want to get on with our lives together too.

That said... And realizing it's more intense as a Philippina thing.   hahahaha Drama, It's true! And I don't wanna go into Tampo either. (other Pinoy men know EXACTLY what I mean lol )  I am trying to give her assurance it is soon as others around us finally being reviewed, we should be soon!

Any advice to calm her down?  She takes this sooo personally! What do you tell others around you, and especially to your fiance, that it just takes time, please relax?

Roger

Roger, were you reading my mind? Your post sums it up pretty much for us too. Malen had to tell me when she read it because it is a carbon copy of how things are for us. She was laughing and asked if I had hacked your account. 😂 I tell her that we are almost there and that all of this waiting will be worth it. There are times when nothing you say can release the anxiety. It might be a Filipina thing but really I think it's a lovers missing each other with no control over the process thing. Right now Malen has a lot on her plate and sometimes I get frustrated because there's nothing I can do from 6,000 miles away.

i hope that this week we all get approved!

God Bless, Jon&Malen
