For those that have completed the journey as far as gotten married in the States.. I'm curious as to the next stage? What are your plans? Did most already have work lined up, if you are working? Supportive family? Apply for work permit right away? I would just like to hear stories. My fiance is awaiting her Interview date. I'm nervous and excited.

Sending the AOS/EAD/Travel permit are my plans. No work lined up as I cannot provide an employer with a date I would be ready to start.

My fiance will be sending off her DS-160 tomorrow. We are approaching the finish line! Unfortunately I began reading some posts about horror stories from the Thai embassy where applicants were denied after just a few minutes in the interview and no explanation was given. My fiance applied for a tourist visa last year and that is exactly what happened. But they told her they suspected she would not come back given our relationship. I'm hoping now that she is applying for a K1 visa that is goes much more smoothly. Those nightmare posts are giving me some anxiety though!

The Embassy treat K1 Visa and Tourist Visa differently. I believe she will get approved on her interview K1 Visa
