That is a common question for any visitors entering a country. They want to know how much currency you are bringing in. You are not allowed more than 10 000$, something like that.

Thank you! Do you think we need to create a new channel for AOS for us January filers, or can we just continue all here. As it is the continuity of the K1.

You're welcome. :) Not sure if moderators will allow a separate AOS forum just for us Jan filers. AOS forums are eventually being created. Whoever files in during the start of the month normally creates it..and global mods merge if there were several forums created for a particular month and year. The latest is: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/639759-july-2017-aos-fillers/ I might file mine around September, and will join in the Sept AOS filers later.

Then say you don't have any dollars in you. Heads up, fyi just in case, you have to fill up the 6059B Customs Declaration Form. You write down items needed to be declared, things of value, not necessarily an inventory of all your items. Flight attendants hand this form to passengers, and you can fill up the form in the plane or at the airport before you go through customs. Look it up. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/566276-customs-declaration-form/

Basically, I did not pay for anything at the airport aside from my third baggage (excess). Travel tax was already included in my ticket. And they're no longer asking for terminal fee at the airport. I know you're not an OFW, but this pretty much applies to a K1 Visa holder. Read up: http://cnnphilippines.com/news/2017/03/15/airport-terminal-fee-waive-OFW.html

It doesn't hurt to bring a few pesos if you'd like to buy food at the Ph Airport. I converted all my paper money to dollars, and have transferred my finances from local account to my fiance's so I could avoid bank charges going international. I'd recommend bringing at least 10 dollars if you have a long overlay at a different airport prior to final destination only if you'd like to buy/eat something and don't own a credit card. Also, any purchases at the plane can only be made through credit card..but then again you wouldn't need it as most long flights come with meals.

Thanks Ms. Lara. Today is my 4th day under non immigrant AP. And honestly, I'm getting more anxious and stress everytime I check the status and no update. I just hope I'll not get stuck in AP as other experienced. I called the embassy today but as usual the agent cannot tell further information about my status he only said that my case is under review by consular.  Praying hard that visa will issued soon.

It will be issued soon :) it actuallybdepends on the country. Some countries process faster.. it stays in non immigrant. So thats still normal

I was under the understanding that K1 and other fliers must pay the terminal fee at NAIA upon departure. I used your link to the article but it speaks of OFW's not "others" like K1 visa holders that need no pay. But, you say you didn't pay the terminal fee when you departed on your K1 visa. By chance were you once a OFW and for some reason there is residual from your travels that indicate that the terminal fee wasn't required from you. I'm a little suspicious only because this is the first I heard of this and I would like to be straight with the current process. I help many over in the Filipino sub-forum and would not like to give out inaccurate information.

I appreciate your answer.

The terminal fee has been included in the airfare for years now at NAIA and applies to ALL travelers (except OFW), I can't speak for other airports.   It is good to see that the government has corrected the issue for OFWs regarding the terminal fee so they don't have to fight to get their money back.   Plus the older issue of the travel tax >

.. OFWs raised cane a year or two ago regarding the travel/exit tax being in the airfare as they are exempted from paying that as well, so the travel tax is optional to pay with the airfare (when purchased in the Philippines) and can still be paid at the airport.
