Hi Guys! Just called NVC and I got the case number!!! Three letters followed by 10 digits.

But on https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA==

when I tracked my visa status, I selected NIV and my consulate. It says the case does not exist! Anyone knows why?

Try selecting "immigrant" as the K1 is treated as a immigrant visa till such time as the visa is approved. Then it switches to non-immigrant. If that doesn't work you maybe too early.

Get the Phone app, it's what I use and it connects you to the progress of your case - It's FREE! Available for Android and Apple phones.

Want to check all your cases that are processed by USCIS? Then you need to register for myUSCIS!! Details there.

AOS is a GC good for two years. Permanent is a GC good for 10 years. Naturalization is forever unless you screw up.

But you can actually do citizenship after two years, so you don't have to do permanent GM correct?

Not necessarily true. Eligibility for naturalization is 5 years as a permanent resident; cut down to three years if you are the spouse of a US citizen. But it starts from your time as a permanent resident, i.e with a green card, not how long you've been married or have had an EAD/AP.

It means that you will have to apply for a 2-year green card through AOS (conditional permanent resident), then apply to remove conditions (10-year green card), and then if you want to, apply for naturalization once you're past three years and eligible.

At least you were together during the other processes, time is nothing, but time apart is our issue.

Yes, I agree. Time apart and not seeing much movement is frustrating. Good luck and I hope good fortunes come your way.

Yeah I don't think we need more than that ...But here is the website: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Step_4_Collect_Financial_Documents.html

Here is what packet 4 says as far as financial evidence:

Affidavit of support (I-134) (for fiancé, employment and DV visas)

Evidence of support (I-864, Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year)

But with answering this question one arise to me...I thought we didn't need the form I-864 for our visa, but here it clearly states it...Do we need it or not?

16 hours ago, John Smith said:

It used to be that only the I-134 was required, but many embassies are beginning to ask for the I-864. I'd fill out both and provide the officer with the I-864 if they ask for it.

The I-864 is not a requirement. I haven't heard that the I-864 is being asked for so I recommend skipping it. The choice is yours but not necessary.

This is what is asked for your interview. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form may be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You may also be asked to submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis.

Today is the big day, I'm quite calm but it's pretty intimidating. I just wanted to ask if anyone knows what they mean by appointment letter. I received pkt 4 in an email and I printed that off plus I have the original and copies of both noa letters and I also have what I printed off after I scheduled my appointment online. Which one are they asking for :/

thanks guys!!

I think it is the one that actually states the date and time of the appointment, so the one printed after you schedule.

Good luck honey! Can't wait to hear from you.

The one in which you printed after you confirmed your appointment. I am of the frame of mind that you bring every document with you that you have used during this process in the event they ask for something you do not have with you. Saves you time and headaches.
