Exciting news for us today. My fiancé finished her interview about 20 minutes ago and was successful in getting her Visa! Her best tip was to smile and all those who she encountered smiled back! A great way to start a conversation. Next stop... booking our flight!

Be careful. Wait till you have your visa in your hands be booking and paying any tickets.  I have been on here long enough to see people who passed their interview at USEM and were delayed in receiving their visa 2 weeks to 9 months. Some even had to return to get spelling errors fixed. You won't board a plane if your visa is not in the right name as the immigration and the airlines look for that item. So buyer beware.

Same thing happened to me. It was in application received for a week until today.. it went back to AP. And also changed to non inmigrant.. still in administrative pricessing and on non immigrant.. i think k1 visas are really non immigrant at first since we still need to get married before changing status. It's justbwhat i think but im not so sure.. if it worries you, try calling the embassy, thats what we did.

What your experiencing is normal and does not require a call to the Embassy. The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 even though it truly is a non immigrant visa requiring I-134. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant. It stays that way until after approval and ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non immigrant visa with immigrant intent.

Hey guys.

Did anybody else, when their CEAC status got changed to "in transit" receive the message:

"Your case is in transit to the consular section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Centre".

Am i correct in saying this doesn't apply to us K1 filers, as we are supposed to book our own interview date?

Thanks :)

It always says that as far as I have seen, and yes you book your own date.  That is just a standard canned message.

I think it depends on the embassy instructions. Personally, I would follow them. Why goof everything up at the last minute over a few days?

I'm having issues with the medical at knightsbridge, on their page it says we need to bring an appointment letter from embassy.

I know you guys booked your medical when the status changed to "ready", but did you have an appointment letter before you did this? calling the doctors they say they need something with my name and LND number on it (of course the CEAC website doesn't show names). So it is suggesting i have to wait for the packet from the embassy.

so i'm worrying if i book my medical then how do i prove what my case number is. just wandering what your fiance is planning on taking of proof to her medical.

Cheers

We have a letter from the NVC that was sent to me. I mailed it to my fiancee in the UK. It has the LND number. You can also just screenshot the case checker results.
