July 17. We had to delay a bit for finance issues but all is within our plan so far. Looks like if all goes well she should be in Oregon August 22. Yay!

Congrats and good luck.  My fiance goes in on 7/7, and I know she is prepared but she is still nervous...and a little sore from the four vaccinations hehe.  Again, good luck!!!

hi hi... you can ignore the invoice number i believe it is for the i130 petition. i did k1 and never had to reference it and im at the interview stage.

yes you (fiance) is considered family on the ds-160 form. good luck!

Does anybody know what the invoice number is for? From NVC.. I was so excited to get the case number that I didn't bother to ask what we need the other number for :D

Also, on the DS-160, it asks do you have any immediate family living in the States, would my fiance need to add me on there or is it for other family?

Thanks in advance!

I didn't put my fiancé as family. He is not legally considered family yet. I remember someone else asking that question before and the answer was no. Either way I think if it is explained, at the interview, it is an honest mistake and I like to believe they would not hold it against anyone. Legally, there are no family links with your fiancé until you are married...unless you are cousins but that would be another issue :P

I would try it out, it's not like they keep count of when you call or not. They told me it can take up to blabla and not call at NVC, and I still called and they kept repeating the same message :P

Thanks!

I called, and after a lot of explanation, the officer transferred me to Tier 2. Unfortunately, the line disconnected during the transfer.

Called again, a different officer answered. After another lot of explanation, he refused to transfer and asked me to call back on Monday. :clock:

Dang! I would try calling again and just say that you were transferred to tier 2 and the line cut, it would be nice to be transferred again :P ? You tried that one?

Yep, that is what I tried. Except after everything I said (as you suggested), we had to have a conversation as if I called for the first time, which leads to a refusal to transfer...

2 months seems like an extremely long time for culture results. Does it really take 2 months to grow some bacteria? Hang in there.

From what we heard about the standard in the Philippines for TB, TB has a slow growth cycle. Back in the 80s and early 90s there was a small increase in TB cases showing up from Asian immigrants that cause a bit of fear of a major outbreak so they stepped up the testing. It's good for everyone involved and luckily is treatable even if it does appear in the tests.

My fiancee and I had a TB scare here in the states when she last visited. We did a 2000 mile road trip to see my mom and 90-year-old grandmother. We both ended up with confirmed cases of the flu on the road there and back. We almost didn't get to see them because we were afraid that we would give the flu to my grandmother. It was a hell of an experience, ended up camping out in a hotel for a few days while we both battled the flu. Then a few days later got to see them when we were feeling better.

We drove back home to my place after that and then a few days later my grandmother ended up with pneumonia and fell and broke her hip. Needless to say, we were both scared to death that we had given her the flu. Called my mom and found that they had her in a negative pressure room with suspected TB! We went from being scared that we gave her the flu to terrified that she had given us TB! :D

In the end, she didn't have TB and we found out later that my fiancee has been immunized against TB in the past and couldn't have caught it anyway. My grandmother also fully recovered from pneumonia and the broken hip.

Curious to hear some opinions on this.  When it comes to evidence of relationship for the interview, I have all kinds of hotel receipts, gift receipts, and an engagement ring receipt.  Do they want all these original receipts?  I'd prefer to make photo copies but I don't know if they CO's at interviews want all original documents of everything?
