Lol no problem.. embassy isn't so straight forward.. the NVC paper they will give you says they will contact the beneficiary and give him information but they did none of that

Really??? That's crazy!!! Because I asked my fiancé how would the embassy contact him with the packet 3 information after their receive the petition, and he said he didn't really know. I'm thinking they would contact him via telephone or he would have to sign up for DHL in advance or something.

So, the NVC sent you, the petitioner, a paper? I guess we'll just have to stay on top of things once we get our NOA2 and check the website religiously for when the time comes.

Well maybe they still allow them in the waiting area. I don't know about that but yes only you would be doing the interview. In the packet 3 it says only if have some type of disability and need someone to assist you then you can bring someone with you to the embassy.

Hello again. I emailed the embassy and they responded, that yes the petitioner is allowed.

After they send you Noa2 , the NVC sends you a letter that it's approved and where the interview is going to be taking place etc.. you can track your case online.. get that out your head now they will not contact him.. I thought the same thing

@Trinab80, On my end, I haven't received anything from NVC. I had to call in order to get a number. It was assigned on the 14 of June and if it wasn't from my calls I still wouldn't know. Some people have received email, but a lot do not receive anything. So I strongly suggest to call after 3 weeks from NOA2.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like that while everything starts to move faster after the NOA2, it's not consistent as to how or when you receive the information to start the next steps. Trust me, I will definitely stay on top of things.

I have all the necessary shots the t/dap,mmr I didn't need varicella because I had chicken pox when I was 3 and my doctor signed off on it also I didn't need the flu shot because it's only needed between nov-march. I had my vacs record with me so all my other shots are recorded

I'm having my medical tomorrow in Toronto. I have the tetanus shot the mmr but I don't have the varicella. But I had chicken pox when I was kid, but I don't have a written evidence of that. I had it when all my sibling and I had it. Do you think that would suffice?

From what people said, having it as a child is enough! I do not know how strict they are about finding or showing off a scar here in Canada. If you can show a scar from varicella great! If not I am not sure.

Pretty much no one has evidence of having the chicken pox haha!

This depends on the hospital but for mine they said they would do a blood test to see if it reacts to the virus? - and let you know if you'll need to get the shot or not. I did let them know I had the chicken pox when I was young but they still need to confirm that is the case. They will just use the blood they draw from you for the other tests, so it isn't an additional step to do for this.

Update:

My fiance had her medical exam today in Bogota, Colombia.  All appears to have gone well and she was able to pick up her packet of results in the same day!  She did have to get 3 shots.  Chicken Pox was one of them.  I think one of them was the Flu also, which it's not Flu season so I don't know why she had to take that one, but she did.  And I'm not sure what the third one is.

Anyways, it appears all is well and now in 1 week I fly down to see her and in 1 week and 1 day we have our interview at the Embassy together!

So close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've almost made it!
