Thank you! First of all I hope they'll approve my visa 😩 And then the second I get the passport with the visa back  I'll book a flight for the next day and I'll be gone and live a happy life with my then husband! So yea .. hopefully August haha

Whoa! Hahaha damn, next day?! I wish I could do the same but my mother won't allow me to leave til a week or two after her birthday (end of July), which means I'll probably leave around the 2nd week of August. But hey, I have no doubt that you will be approved, girl! :) Just a few more weeks!!!

Aww yea I understand that She wants you to be there but I live at my moms since I got back from Miami last year and we never had a good relationship. And my dad didn't said a word to my engagement and lives a happy life with his new family. So I've no one to say goodbye to and that's okay.

Yea everyone says that but they denied my student visa last year because I told them that my fiancé is my bank sponsor haha we were so stupid. Our lawyer said it's good that I didn't try to hide anything and told them that I'm engaged. We seriously didn't try to get me to US on a wrong visa. The people form college said that a lot students getting married and change their status and that it wouldn't be an issue and we didn't know that we have to apply for a K1.

So I hope our stupidness won't ruin our chance of having a life together.

I am really optimistic with your history! I mean some people overstayed and got forgiven. You tried to go study the legal route and got denied. You did absolutely nothing wrong! and you have a proof he is really your fiancé as you got denied because they were too scared you would get married!

Hey guys! I am getting so annoyed with trying to pay the visa fee. Has anyone else made it to this point yet? Apparently i cant pay the visa fee until I schedule his interview! But of course in Kingston there are no interview dates and the website wont allow me to just pay the damn fee  and worry about actually scheduling it later. is anyone else having this issue or is this just a Jamaica thing?

My fiancé went to the consulate office to book his appointments June 1 & he had no problems

Thank you .. I mean yea of course they don't give me a student visa because the requirements for that are that you have strong ties in your home country and plan on coming back and I didn't know that. But I wanted to study and get married in my semester holidays. seriously without trying to do something illiegal or break the law. That's why I told the officer last year at my interview 'oh and my fiancé is my bank sponsor' and smiled like an unicorn  😂

My fiance will come to Germany for 1-2 days to be there at my interview. I know people say it won't change anything but they will see how much  in love I am with him.

I truly wish I could give you a hug, Hannah! :/ I had a bad relationship with my mother but I tried my best to forgive her for the things she did before, so now, I guess you can say we have an okay relationship. Anyway, you are about to move to the US and start a new life with your man, and you'll get lots of love! You may not have anyone dear to say goodbye to, but what's more important is that soon, you will have the love of your life to say hello to when you come running into his arms at the airport. :)

I understand your history worries you. I mean, aren't we all worried about something? We all want to be with our love and don't want to screw anything up. Just make it clear during your interview that your purpose is solely to marry your fiance, nothing else. If they ask you if you plan to work or study, tell them you have no other plans right now other than getting married. I'm sure you already know this, though. :) I believe in you, Hannah! You'll get approved!

Call the Jamaican us embassy to confirm when and where u have to pay. For trinidad I had to print the payment instructions from the us embassy and go to a local bank and pay it.

You can only pay the visa visa fee after ur case says ready and is at the Jamaican embassy and u have submitted your ds-160

We did all of that! They sent us the email after I sent the ds-160 telling us to register online and schedule the appointment from the link....now I'm trying to pay and It won't let me ugh this is so annoying...

Really? I thought you couldn't go there unless you had an appointment already. Did he pay there as well?

My fiancé had his interview today, June 26 and he was at the Manila embassy for roughly 3 hours. There were only 3 questions the immigration officer asked him. I was told the officer was a middle-aged Caucasian man who was intimidating but nonetheless nice and he speaks Tagalog too! His questions were:

1. So you two met while you were in nursing school. Why did your fiancé just file this petition recently when you started dating in 2002? (FYI, we broke up in 2011 after being in a long-distance relationship for 7.5 years and before DOMA was deemed unconstitutional so I did not file a petition back then, but that's another story).

2. Where does your fiancé work?

3. Any wedding plans? (He just showed the email correspondence between me and the wedding coordinator since the wedding will be in Vegas and only my and his family will come. The emails (with the date of the wedding indicated) were our only proof that we plan to get married but he accepted it 😂).

So that's it. He will get his visa soon and I can't wait! I'm hoping everyone on this thread will get a favorable experience just like my fiancé did. This forum really helped me a lot prepare for this journey and I wanna thank everyone for your input. Good luck everyone!

well when i initially registered there were no available interview dates and this made me unable to pay the visa fee. so maybe yours is set up the same way. when i called my embassy they told me to keep checking until i see a date which did allow me to print the payment instructions to pay the fee. so my advice: call your embassy and confirm the process and also keep checking the website multiple times throughout the day- your process may be the same as mine.
