Hi guys

just want to make sure I am on top of things for when the NOA2 arrives (hopefully). We need to obtain a copy of our police records right?

What do we need to apply for? does anyone know how long it will take? and how long it is valid for? sorry for all the questions but if I apply to get it now to save further time it would help right? if it is still valid for a few months.

thanks

ok thank you

can some of this (medical record and police record) be done before the NOA2 is received to save time?

after the noa1 it is still going to the nvc and then the embassy will still proces it before you get your interview, that can easely add up to another 2 monts after the noa2.
but you can probably get started on it now, i know here you can,  but that depends on your goverment and what there rules are for getting a police record

Documents like birth certificates and record of where you lived when since 16 yo ... they you can get at any time

Also the police record should be fine to do early ...

For the medical exam you'll need your case number after NOA2 from the embassy, I think ... but you can get all needed shots and your medical history in the meantime

And as said before ... after NOA2 you'll have about 4-6 weeks before you receive your packet3 ...

Hi everyone

I checked the UK embassy website and it states if you are successful they will send your details back by courier in an envelope and not to open it, as it needs to be opened by a member of the US consulate.

Quick and possibly stupid question. if you cannot open it, How can you travel to America before it gets opened? as it has your passport in it and you would need your passport before you fly.

Does anyone know? is the passport separate from the envelope?

thanks all

Yes that's a different envelope ... the details they mention have nothing to do with your passport

I have the option of re-ordering "long form" or "short form" birth certificate.

Does it matter which?

Packet 3 for Montreal does not specify.

Any one know by chance?

Long form, with parents names, is usually required by the embassy

Well I'm joining the January 2017 Filer's party while waiting for NOA2.  My 129f Beneficiary is from PRC but lives in  Singapore where we requested interview. We had a B-1 visa denied 2 years ago so I had to make the trip to SG in 2016. The May-June  Timeline date sounds too good to be true. Our primary concern now is the COC/CNCC requirements from  PRC.  We want to avoid another trip to PRC for documents.

Hey thank you for taking the time to scan all of the cases. However one person in January that I know of so far received a response because her case was expedited.. Question why is so many cases in January rejected? I can't see the reason because it's cut off?
