See I am hoping I can get a slot beginning of July!

Congrats to you too! :jest: Good luck on the rest of the process!

We are actually not in a rush to go for the interview. My fiance who was born in the US but grew up in Canada just relocated to the LA and is still looking for a job.

I am going to Texas to visit my fiance this Saturday until July 5, So I knew as soon as I got the NOA2 I was going to have to schedule it a few weeks after that at the earliest since I need to leave time for the medical as well.  I was aiming for July 26, but I guess it depends on when I get my number and how fast they send me packet 4.

Nice! I hope you have a great time and not too much trouble getting in the US! Let me know how it went. I was too chicken to go visit myself, but I don't really have proper reasons to come back. No house, no real life job (I am a student). So yeah, really high risk of getting turned down.

Thank you! I am always nervous to go through but I have a lot of US visits from the last 2 years due to travelling for music festivals so I think that maybe helps show I leave in a timely fashion and I also always bring my return flight itinerary, letter from my boss and now my NOA2 (which I'll explain means I have to come back to Canada for my interview). I only really let myself get excited to see him once I get past customs.

Probably a stupid question so sorry if this is repeated! Does NVC send a letter with your case number when they receive your petition? I see that many people call but was just wondering what happens if you don't call. Thanks!!!

Some people have received emails, others receive actual information from their consulate. Being with the montreal consulate, it is better to call as a lot of people do not get the packet 3, which is what they send when they receive your petition. So you could be ready without really knowing lol.

Happy to share that I passed the interview today in US embassy Manila! :) weng there 6:10. Appointment time 7:10. Finished all at 8am. It was so fast! What I noticed is if you have your I-129f packet complete you will get less question. Our i-129f were so thick like a rim and half of paper. The consul just browse it and ask question then thats it. I even answered wrong year when did we met personally but I corrected if right away instead of 2016 I said 2006 haha. Then after putting notes on computer the consul handed me a paper for domestic violence then was asked to register my address and to wait 7-10 days for the visa. Goodluck to all Pray and Pray it helps a lot. Thanks to God.

@PR&PR

After we sent out my petition, I flew out of Vancouver Airport to visit LA 3 times. I was never given a hard time at the border nor asked too many questions. Don't worry guys! Enjoy your trip ^_^

What kind of job is your fiance looking for? My fiance lives in LA, too, and I think his company is hiring people atm.

Maybe we'll be neighbours soon! Haha

He's a software developer. He is actually attending an academic program until mid-July; and will start looking for a job after that. What about you and your fiance?

I don't understand how NVC received our case June 8th and they still don't have a case number ?! It usually doesn't take that long after they received it. Should I be worried? I'm super frustrated

It seems to be the case that Frankfurt is trying out electronic processing, which means your details get digitally sent to Germany but take a little longer to process. As I mentioned in the Feb thread last night, after speaking with NVC, Frankfurt is listed as one of the embassies that can handle electronic processing for CR-1 visas, and now seems to be on a trial for the electronic transfer of K1 petitions too.

NVC told us yesterday our case was being sent to Frankfurt electronically, and my understanding is that only a certain number of NVC agents are able to see our case in their system and deal with it.  When we call, some tell us they haven't received it and are very rude, but others are able to see it in their system and confirm it was received two weeks ago. After getting to a supervisor, they confirmed they received it June 3rd and it is being processed electronically, which should be complete today. They ask for up to 6 weeks to receive the case, and then up to 2 weeks to process it after receiving it.

If you're going through Germany, it's possible that this is happening to you too, so be sure to ask if your case is being processed in that way next time you call. Often when you press NVC about not having your number, the agent "looks in a different section/area" and then finds your case. If you get someone unhelpful, like one particular agent I always get, hang up and try again.

Omg this is so damn annoying I thought I will have my interview in July and i already scheduled a medical for July 4th to make sure it arrives on time a time the embassy. Do you think I should push the medical a week or so back? Man I'm supposed to be happy that I get married soon but I'm more stressed, depressed and frustrated than anything else.
