What is your NOA2 date? Um .. i guess you have to wait for package 3 with the instructions. Maybe you can start filing out the DS-160?

Noa2 date was may 22nd. Everything has been going according to the expected timeframe. My partner lives in France and we're both kinda clueless as to what happens next. Do I fill out the ds-160? Who receives the package? So many questions too specific for google search to narrow down..

Hi, Hannah! Have you called NVC yet? I'm anxiously waiting for my fiance to call so I can finally find out if we got our case number this week or if we will have to wait longer. :/

Hello all, I called the Nvc today and received my case and invoice numbers. When I asked what the next step was all the associate had to say was "pay the fees" this was very vague and then she hung up on me. I'm very confused as to what the next step is. The case is yet to be sent to the embassy. What fees and what paperwork remains?

It all varies from country to country at this point. Please check with your embassy (You should find some info on their site) for the next steps/requirements. Not everyone receives packet3/4.

Edit: I read that you're the petitioner, and your fiance is from France. I'm pretty sure you can find info from the US Embassy in France website.

@HazeyHaze is right, it depends on the country but I think I read that France gets package 3 too. I hope some French people here can come out and help you. Look at the US embassy website in France. In Germany I'll get the package 3 with instructions and have to send them documents before I can make an appointment. It says on every countries website what the US embassy in their country needs (birth certificate, police certificate, marriage and divorce certificate .. etc.) so you can gather all the documents together now and be prepared when the embassy contacts your fiancé in France.

Also the lady on the phone said it can take up to 6 weeks but this rarely or hardly ever happens and we can call them as often as we like.

Well very interesting development. I called and was expecting to be disappointed again, I was actually told they received it May 31st...Why have they been telling me every single day that they hadn't received it yet? No number was assigned yet, so I am going to call again tonight just to see how fast they assign numbers. But from this, I think they do not update their system until they are basically ready to assign a number. As the lady said they had it since the 31st, but every time I called they told me they hadn't receive it from USCIS.

So to all being told that NVC hasn't receive their petition yet, hang in there, they might actually have it, but not in their system yet...

Today is my 25th day waiting for the case number from NVC. I saw people before or after our NOA2 date already have the case number with "Ready" status. What is going on with NVC lately? Did they miss a couple boxes of files and left in the corner of the mailing room?

My fiancé called the NVC again today and got a an answer other than the "we don't see it, wait 6 weeks".  We were told that they received our case on May 24th, but that they can't access it in their system or something. The lady I talked to said we are one of the "lucky" ones who appear to have been added to their new Consular Electronic Processing system (more information here, but not very helpful: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/contact/CEAC_electronic_processing.html.html). Basically it sounds like they have it, but they need to scan the paper copy into the new system to make an electronic copy. Once they do that, the process should be faster as they will send the case electronically to the embassy in my fiancé's country rather than mailing it. She said they should communicate to us via snail mail or email once the embassy receives it.  She also said that they should generate and invoice number for us and that we can continue to call to try to get that if we want.

So, maybe try calling the NVC again and ask if they can see if your case has at least been received. For some reason they didn't think it was important to tell us this bit of information before so maybe you need to ask for it specifically?

Also, since I hit the 30 day mark, I emailed NVCINQUIRY@state.gov as the I-797 instructed. I don't know if that helped move things along too...

I hope this helps you to get more information on your case also! Good luck!

I just had a similar experience! I was told a bit more information: that we are part of the move to a new electronic system, etc. etc...see my post above :-)

Based on reading some other experiences with the NVC, seems like they are slowly introducing the new electronic process and some of us are part of it, and some aren't. Just speculation. But at least you know they have it now!

Best of luck to you!

what is ur rfe? did u call uscis regarding ur noa2 ?

They requested statement of intent to marry, evidence of meeting, and new ID photos. No, based on the experience shared on the VJ, it does not seem to be useful to call them other than getting into an unhappy mood...

What about you?

We don't know yet. Waiting for hard copy. I guess it will be also passport pic cause the attorney gave us different requirements of it and persuaded to send it in spite of the information on official site was different. And probably more evidances about our relationships. We met 2 times before applying. And after applying  three times. Maybe the period of our relationships was too short for USCIS. It was 5 months. Now it is 9...

you will have it soon goodluck
