I certainly agree. I do hope that one good thing that might come out of all of the calls being made is that USCIS decides to modernize or change their process to make it more efficient, or at least hold them more accountable. With the filing fee increase, maybe they can put some of the funds to new technology and training. I hope that filers who will be going through this process a few years from now have an easier time and a clearer path throughout the whole process.

You know, when I told tier 2 about the online tracker issue, they did say that they were going to forward the issue over to the training department. That seemed a bit strange to me so I had them repeat the answer, "Did you say training department?". They responded, "Yes, the training department!". So I went on to say something along the lines of, "So there's nothing that's actually broken and you're going to suggest that people be trained to press the update the online tracker button?". Then there was no response.

So we at least know that there is a training department. What they actually do is a mystery. It sounds like maybe the training department has been repurposed as the technology team, which might explain a bunch. hahaha.

Thank You! :) Officer said 5-10 days.

I called their call center after to confirm. Was told that once it's ready, embassy will forward the passport with the visa to 2GO-MOA, where I have it set for pick up. 2GO will text me once they've received it. Interview is super quick, goodluck!

Looking for some feedback for a K1 Visa.  I got my NOA1 on January 25th, 2017.  May 3rd received notice of an RFE.  It ended up being a need for proof of intent to marry.  I sent everything back and they received it May 15th.  I am still waiting on my NOA2 and am getting really nervous.  Does anyone know average time it takes to receive an NOA2 back from a simple RFE such as proof of intent to marry.  It was just a letter from my fiance saying that she intends to marry me within 90 days with her wet signature.  I would think something simple like this I would already have at least an electronic NOA2.  Any help is appreciated!!!

There's no set time unfortunately. Some people have waited almost a month, if not more for a response to their RFE, while ours was approved exactly a week after they received it. You might expect around 2 weeks, but there's no set time.

To help calm your nerves, the Case Number is not really important for you until you actually pay your Visa Application fee later in the process.  That has been the only time I've used that number so far.  The DS-160 only asks for your USCIS WAC number.  So, you can start filling out the DS-160 now if you'd like, since it has a save function, and pass some time preparing by doing that.  Just don't submit it, only save it.

As for your question, not quite sure what your asking.... the NVC only gives you a case number if you ask for it.  Otherwise, you get nothing from them, you'll end up getting information from the embassy in your beneficiaries country.  Which to be honest, I haven't gotten anything yet.  But thanks to Visajourney I got a copy of what they send my fiance, so we know what is expected of us and have started that way.  Still waiting on the official notice from the Embassy (See my timeline in signature for dates)

I think the urgency on these forums to get a Case Number from the NVC is the result of our dire need to see movement in our petition after waiting so so long as it sat still at the USCIS.  The number does let you track the petition through the CEAC which is nice, but its usefulness ends there till your fiance receives the packet from the Embassy with the real instructions and information to follow since everything at this point is embassy specific.

So calling every day, driving yourself mad, over this number is not really warranted.  You can call the NVC everday but it still will not speed up this process for yourself any faster than if you called 1 time per week.

Haha thank you for your answer. I am not driving myself crazy whew, but actually to me having the number and tracking it is quite important. My packet 3 is available online, so as as soon as my case says ready, I will actually send the DS160 (which has been filed for a little while now) AND the packet 3. I just want to be able to go through the damn process as soon as possible (like everyone else here), and my NVC number and tracking it will provide me that, as receiving the packet 3 through mail can take up to a month with my consulate. The calling everyday is in order to get the number and not to speed the process, as you never know when they will actually receive it. Which once again make no sense! Why some people who have received their approval after already have their NVC? This whole process is a real joke.

Hey everyone who is still waiting for NOA2. I just had an emotional breakdown this morning after seeing yet another day with no letter in the mail. This is on top of one of my kids moving on to middle school and leaving elementary school behind. In many ways, I feel like my class (all of my friends here who have their NOA2s) are my graduating class, and I have been left behind. It's a tough road, this is, being separated from the love of my life, with all of the emotional torment that comes along with it, and still trying to keep up with my daily life. There's nothing magic here that I am trying to say. I guess I just wanted to say that I have picked myself up off the floor again, and am trying to carry on. To anyone else out there that's suffering like me, you are not alone, and I understand what you are going through.

I understand the that you are feeling left behind. I had similar feelings when petitions around and after my received date were being approved or touched. Hang in there. Remember that this usually the longest wait and therefore the most difficult part. I hope that several years from now you and your then spouse will be able to look back and think about how the months you waited were so worth the outcome. I am always checking this thread for good news from you and everyone else still waiting. Really hope it comes soon!
