I've sent my pkt 3 to the embassy so now just waiting for the pkt 4. Does this ever come and how am I supposed to receive it, some say email others say mail. Also I haven't paid the fee yet but my ceac status says ready. Should I be scheduling my interview and medical?

Have you sent the DS160 as well?

To schedule the interview with the Montreal consulate, I know you need to receive packet 4, as it is the packet that gives all the information. As I am not there yet, I do not know when you pay the fees exactly or how. I just know it is supposed to be done before/in order to schedule the interview, then the medical. When you get packet 4, if you wouldn't mind giving updates on the rest of the process for Canada, I would really appreciate that. From my reading, it normally takes 3-5 days to receive packet 4, once the 3rd has been sent. I believe you get it through email.

We just received our NOA2 (electronically) (yay)

Is there anything we can do awhile while we wait for our case number?

Can my fiance schedule his medical exam or his interview date at this point?

Any pointers would be great!

Hoping for all January filers to hear soon! Seems like they are starting to finish up January finally

Each country is different at this point. I was lucky to be able to find what will be needed for the interview specifically. So maybe your fiancé can start gathering some stuff, like the police certificate which can take a little bit of time to receive. Or check online if you can find packet 3 for your embassy/consulate and start preparing those. Really nothing much else to do while waiting for the "ready"

I have completed my ds160 and submitted it. I received pkt 3 and have sent back the required documents via the email I was given. I did get a email back from them confirming that my email was successfully sent. So now I'm just waiting for pkt 4. I believe I'll make the payment once I receive the pkt 4 in my email. I will update as much as possible. Thanks so much for your help!!!

Yes that's correct. The first person you speak to is a CSR and they do not have access to the same data base as USCIS officer (Tier 2). I had to wait 2 hours for a return call. When he called he was very helpful and confirmed the front line CSR personnel do not access to the same data base.

So you speaking to someone who is using the same broken system that we have access to.

FYI we received our NOA2 approval on 05/5 and the USCIS app still shows our case status as "Received" 138 days. Thank God that isn't the case.

Good luck to you both on receiving your NOA2 shortly. I'm sure your patience is really being tested right now

You must have missed my post this weekend, but we already got the NOA2 in the mail. :) Approved May 22, 2017. Anyway, thanks!

I'm now trying to call USCIS on their customer service number (1800 375 5283) but I think their line is malfunctioning - it doesn't give any option to speak to anybody even at the end of all the menu options - it just says, "please call back between our opening hours of 8am and 6pm monday to friday" - but it IS between those hours right now.

Is anybody else having trouble calling USCIS today??

Is there an email address I can reach them at instead??

Thanks so much all in advance for any help!

Go down the route on the automated message of saying you lost or forgot your case number, that will get you access to speak to someone on the phone. That's what we did. Asked for a tier 2 and then they said they were going to call us back in 74 minutes, but it's already been 3 hours and still no call! Although it's a U.K number so hopefully no issues there but we shall see

We're going to start calling NVC next week to ask for our case number, but I'm a little confused about the process after receiving the NOA2.

I have a few questions for my fellow Filipino filers:

1. Once we get our NVC case number, do I have to wait for the status to be "ready" before I can schedule my medical and interview?
2. Will they send Packet 3 via mail? Am I required to take it to the medical and interview? I heard that beneficiaries from other countries can't go to their interview without Packet 3, and some can't even schedule their interview without having received this yet.
3. I also heard that beneficiaries from other countries have to send some documents listed on their Packet 3 to their embassy before they can schedule an interview. Does this apply to us as well? If so, what documents do we need to mail to the embassy? I found a sample Packet 3 letter but it only lists the interview fee, instructions on how to schedule the medical and interview, and the documents you're required to take to the interview.

If someone could help me out with the next steps, I would be very thankful. 1f642.png

I had the same problem so when we called we pressed 1 for English and then 2,2 and again 2. That's for 'receipt number lost' and at the end you'll get the option to talk to an officer. My fiancé called May 25th and they checked the online case tracker which isn't working .. so they said we are not approved even tough we were already on may 22nd and got the letter on may 27th :)

Update my fellow people!

I Called the NVC Today and their 0700 number was too tough to get through, so I called the other line and got through okay. I Finally got a Case #, on the CEAC it says it is currently at the NVC so hopefully it will reach the consulate sometime this week :dancing:

Well not sure if I'm posted in the right place I'll call there a couple months back woman told me to call back when my case has been there for 4 months and I asked questions and it did not answer what I asked them so he said just call back and for months and nothing has been done by then didn't put a inquiry in so I should wait then or put one in now

Sorry, but your post was a little confusing. So you called them last month and you were told to call back when when your case has been untouched for 4 months? And it has been 4 months and you're asking if tou should call them back? I don't know exactly what you asked them and what you want to know now but I assume it's what's up with your case, Am I right?

I see your NOA1 date is January 25. There are still many January filers who haven't received an approval or RFE. There are even some November amd December filers who are still waiting. Some people here contacted their congressman for help so I suggest you do that, too.

Also, the tracker is broken right now so do check your mail often as getting the NOA2 letter seems to be the only way right now to know that you have been approved. You can also call USCIS again and ask for a tier 2 officer to check your case status for you, I guess.
