When I spoke to a tier 2 officer I was told that an RFE has been "ordered" on May 22nd, has anyone had this experience? How long it takes to get that letter in the mail? My status still shows as Received on January 20th online.

Can anyone briefly explain the steps from here on out? We have out nvc case number.

We don't need to send anything directly to the nvc correct? Other than the DS-160? Which we fill out once the tracker says ready or can we fill it out now?

So ive been looking religiously and just checked again and my case says this on the uscis site....

On May 24, 2017, your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number WAC1790177116, was transferred to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by June 23, 2017, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Im nervous now does anyone knows what this means... I called yesterday spoke too tier 2 and they said my case was at California Service Center.. Does anyone know why it left there and has anyone ever had this happen? Any answers would be appreciated, thank you!

The California Service Center handles all I-129F petitions now.  It should of went there in the first place.  Not sure why it didn't.

You can start filling out the DS-160 now, just don't send it in till your case is listed as READY.  The CEAC website has a save function for your DS-160 so you can work a little on it everyday and save it and retrieve it the next day.  But again, don't submit it because you can't get it back once it is submitted.  Just save it for now.

After that, you'll just have to wait till your countries Embassy sends a packet to your beneficiary fiance, which will explain everything.  So, besides the DS-160, you're still in waiting mode till the packet(s) arrive and you can start following the embassy specific instructions.

Nothing gets sent directly to NVC, no.

Thank you! And when does paying the visa fee come into play? After the DS-160 is sent? Is it paid online?

It varies by country.

My country you pay after submitting DS-160.

Most countries have a system in place to pay online.  Otherwise call the Embassy to pay over the automated payment system.  I plan on paying via calling to the automated system.

Then after your pay, you can schedule interview  (UNLESS, your country has specific instructions like sending in paperwork or checklists before scheduling interview).

But again, the packet should explain all that and the steps you need to take for your specific country.

This just probably means you got an RFE. We did, too. My fiance received the letter 4 business days after it was sent. We sent our response a day after and they received it after 3 business days. We're still waiting for our NOA2. Don't know if we've already been approved as the tracker is broken. Will call them later to ask for the status. Good luck to you!

Sure, we called 1-800-375-5283. We pressed nothing after dialling to get redirected to an actual person, as to bypass the automated system.

Hello Everyone,

For a few months now, I have read your posts and learned a great deal from you. I need someone to help please. I am one of the remaining few with NOA1 in January who has yet to receive any word or notice regarding NOA2 or RFE. My NOA1 date is January 09, 2017! Who has recent scan info for that date? How can I obtain for myself?

Please help me hold on to my sanity!

V/r, Ted (Receipt: WAC1790166168)
