May I know when did you contact the congressman after you have been waiting for NOA2? My fiance also mentioned it to me yesterday if we should contact our congressman, but he told me we needed to write a letter and mail to them instead email. I just think if there has email, that helps a lot and much faster to wait a letter. And I also have a question, the city my fiance is living is not the city he born. Is that ok?

I sent my packet on Jan 18th, it was received Jan 20th and got my NOA1 on Jan 24th.

On May 5th I sent an email and got a response on May 8th from my congresswoman, they asked for some more info and on May 15th I got a response from USCIS. I think email is faster, see if they have a contact page on their website and you can send them a letter that way. It doesn't matter where he was born, it's usually the city he resides in currently. Hope this helps :)

Question for the happy January people that already got their NOA2 in the mailbox .. Might the system be working again?

I kind of doubt it, but just got an update on the phone app for a case approved after barely showing RFE's lately, so wondering... :)

Not so quick, if they "fixed" it, we don't know what that means. I just started the full scan and I am already seeing 2 approvals in the data for the 17th. This could mean that it's fixed going forward maybe, but not retro. We will just have to wait and see. We saw a weird approval spike of 17 on May 8th, then it stopped again.

My suspicion has been that it's not broken, but some manager or supervisor decided for whatever reason to not log approvals.

That is what I have been thinking..it's not broken but they just blocked logging the approvals, too many people calling USCIS and saying that cases after them have been approved (me being one of those people :D ) it made them block that I'm sure

Now they have double calling about approvals missing. If you're right, it's just too difficult for them to understand that if we can see data, we can see data. Either they report it accurately or don't report it at all if they don't want people all over them about it.

I think the website was disabled because of the sophisticated civilian tracking (akesangel, dbmathis, etc) that has sprouted up scanning their database and essentially tracking their progress. Which they did not like.  The Government is the watcher, they don't like being watched.  So they shut down the updates on the website so they can't be so closely tracked by what they are doing.

It's our fault

I'd like to give everyone an update on my case.....

If you remember last Friday I called the NVC just to find out that my fiance's Date of Birth was entered wrong into the system by the USCIS.  So because of this I was not able to pass the security questions, and furthermore not able to track my case.  The NVC agent told me to send an email to the NVC with the passport and birth certificate of my fiance and they will forward it to the US Embassy in Bogota, Colombia to have it fixed before it is processed by the Embassy.

Today I called back the NVC to see if the petition has left the NVC, but also to see if my email and info made it to the right hands.  After a half hour wait I finally made it through to an agent.  She asked for the receipt number, then my fiance's name, then my fiances birthday.  I responded with the correct birthday, and after I said her birthday, I started to say that I called Friday and tell her the story but she cut me off and asked for petitioners name.  So I said my name.  And then she started talking about my petition and saying it was received and I have a case number assigned.  She said a case number was assigned on Friday and on Monday the case was touched again.

So what that tells me is that they were able to fix the birthdate before sending the petition to the Embassy because I obviously passed the security question this time with a correct DOB.  And since I called Friday and found out about the issue, and then sent the email with info that same Friday, and the NVC agent today said the case was touched again on Monday, it seems they fixed the issue on Monday with the info from my email.  So today I was able to get my Case Number from the NVC :)  :)  :)  :)

Last thing I'll say is about the NVC receive date.  The NVC agent today, when I asked when the petition was received, says she doesn't have that information.  All she had was when the NVC assigned the Case Number which was Friday.  So, the receive date on the VJ timelines seems to be a complete guess?  I don't know how you can get that information?  Because when I called Friday and found out about the DOB error, the agent would not tell me anything specific about my case.  When I asked him has my petition at least arrived yet?  And his answer was "Oh, it's definitely here."   I took that as my receive date was Friday then.  Since I called literally the day before, on Thursday, and they said they DID NOT receive the petition yet?  But then Friday the guy said "Oh, it's definitely here".... he knew that it was there because the Case Number was assigned, that is why it was a "DEFINITELY".  Which now I'm figuring out thanks to my call today and the agent today said the case number was assigned Friday.

So I don;'t know how you can track the NVC receive date???

Anyway.... SORRY for wall of text.  It's probably really hard to follow too, my apologies.  But I'm happy that I can at least track now :)

Wow! I was directed to your page because I am going through the same issue! I've been calling NVC everyday, Monday they said it had not arrived, Tuesday they told me it arrived but was not assigned a case number, and today when I called they said NVC input the wrong DOB for my fiance! So frustrating, I hope my turnaround time is as quick as yours! Thanks for sharing your experience. :)
