i think it is inportent to remember that in almost every company and specially big goverment companys. it can be really dificult to fix problems. and completely seperated from the fact if that is right or wrong or how it should go, you can bet that most people working at the USCIS are not in a position to do anything about it. They are not bad people just people doing there job. and having to work day in day out with a lot of unsatisfied costemers, that does not sound like a very nice job to me.
these people are not our enemy, even though it feels like that a lot of the time. I think it is inportent to remember that if you are angry , by angry at the situation, not the person delivering the news, even if that news is not true, they might not have a choice. and there just thinking about getting trough the day and going back to there famely to. most people at there job just do what they are toltr because they dont want to risk losing there job and have people depening on them. we cant blame them for that.

There are all sorts of people and situations in whatever organization that is in question. That aside, I still expect them to understand their job, do their job properly, be honest and at the very least report any issues that we report, to the proper people/department/etc. There's a difference between expectations and the pursuit of excellence. If they are not being truthful, providing accurate information, etc, I am going to call them on it every single time. We all have families/lives outside of work (I'm a single Dad of two kids), and I have also been employed for 11 years in a very challenging programming position. I would not have kept my job for 11 years nor would my company have stayed in business, if we all had an "I don't care attitude". That's no excuse and is unacceptable IMO. We pay taxes and the huge fees for this process. They need to do their job right in a timely manner, period.

I am currently a Call Center Director and see these types of things from both sides.  Unfortunately, they can only provide the information that is provided to them.

The issue is, every time I call, I get a different answer. That doesn't hold water in this situation.

The other thing here is that I am not just irritated at the person I am calling, I am irritated at the entire system that they are working in, and the superset to that system, on up to the very top system.

i really untherstand what you are saying, i just want to adress that in our position it can be hard to see there are always two sides to things. and most people are just trying to get tough the day and do it in a way they think is the right way to do it. im not saying its right, but it does not make them bad poeple.

Yes. I see your point. I don't see them as bad people, actually, just annoying and irritating people. :)

I told the tier 1 person that I have evidence that the online checker is broken and would like to make sure that someone is aware. I added that if it is broken, I would like to get a status update on my case.

Unfortunately, yes, probably minimum wage. That's a whole nother topic, but is definitely part of the issue here, no doubt.

it feels so unfair sometimes, when i see couples together that are just terrible to eachoher and they get to live with aechother and ruin a bunch of children together, and they dont have to justify themselfs to anyone, they dont even have to love eachother.  just becasue they are in the same country.
But all of us have been needing to justify and defent our relationships to poeple we dont even know. we get judged and interegated even when we just want to visit eachother. we have to jump trough so many hoops and in the end we are at the mercy of others, we have almost no controle. and it feels teriible.
but sadly they do have reason to not just let everyone move where they want. and having boardes and fighting for those baorders goes back far, and it will stay that way untill far in the furure, so in the end we have no choice but eccept.

I know what you mean... I dont get to see my fiance often enough, and have only seen our 2 year old son twice in person.  Luckily get to see them both everyday online.

Can you image this without technology?
