At the very least, I hope the tracker starts working again this week. The lack of transparency over the fact it's broken is pretty poor, to be honest.

Hey everyone, I could use some help.

It has been 2 weeks since we recieved our NOA2, what happens now? We have all the documents gathered, do we need to call the NVC?What do we ask for? I'm just a little lost in terms of the next step.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

It took 17 days before the NVC had received my petition from the USCIS.

Yes, call them and ask for:

  1. Your Case Number (if assigned, if not assigned yet you should call back in 1-2 days)
  2. Your Invoice Number

When you call be prepared with your USCIS receipt number, your fiances full name and Date of Birth.  They ask for security reasons.

Within a couple days of being at the NVC they will send the petition to the appropriate consulate in your fiances country and the steps thereafter really vary from consulate to consulate.  I'd check the country portal here on VJ for specifics on your countries consulate.

You need to call the National Visa Center now to get your reference number that you will use to set up your medical and US Embassy appointments. I would recommend checking the specific requirements for the country your  beneficiary is living in.

Here is the link that contains a flowchart on VJ for the next steps that includes the NVC phone number.

I'm not getting it from the NVC.  I have to wait till it arrives at the consulate and they mail my fiance.  Because the DOB was entered incorrectly by the USCIS it screws me from tracking it. :(  Because the DOB is a security question, and since I can't answer it correctly now, they won't give me any information :(

Question if anyone knows would be appreciated. What is need after you have the new case numbers from NVC? Got the new case numbers just waiting on the paper for NVC that they're going to sent out but want to start early if possible. My fiancée doesn't know that much English so I'll be doing most of the filing for her here in the states. Thanks

Here is a flowchart for the next steps of the process. You also need to check the VJ website or Google for the specific requirements of your beneficiary's country.
