Shouldn't it be for 2016, 2015 and 2014 considering we are in 2017 now?

Yes. Typo. Fixed :)

Distance is to love like wind is to fire… it extinguishes the small and kindles the great!

Hey guys. Quick questions:

I am still listed as a dependent on my parents' taxes so I won't be able to submit any of my own tax docs. Is that ok since my dad is the cosponsor?

My dad owns his own company for many years now, what should we do about the "letter from employer" since he is his own employer?

Thanks!

so my 2016 wont show what i make now thats the problem,

and i dont have a w2 for this job since i startrd end of january, should i provide my w2 foe the two previous jobs i had?

I would include a letter with your I-134 explain that you recently graduated or what not and that your income is now above poverty line. I had my employer's write a "beefy" letter telling them that even tho my position is temporary (not to exceed appointment beyond fall  2018), that other funds are being secured for further employment for me w the company, etc.

the consulate just needs to know A) you are above poverty line (for you and your beneficiary) and B) the beneficiary will not be a burden on taxpayers should the marriage go wrong (divorce court) or that you can support the individual w enough alimony that they won't need to file for food stamps. Essentially that's what they are looking for.  They understand that young people, fresh out of college and in love, have lower income . Just explain your situation in letter.

I should also add that I called the USCIS support number. I was told that some applications take longer than others and that the website always has the most accurate case information despite me mentioning during the call that several filers have received approval letters while still having an online status of case received.

I've been reading this forum for a while. I'm quite impressed with those that decided to write scanning tools.

I filed our application on January 30. My status still shows as received. Have any January 30th filers been approved yet?

Yes, there are Jan. 30 cases in approved status. USCIS is already well into processing and approving February cases. Unfortunately, the online checker is broken in that currently approvals are not being reported. Once/if they fix this, I will publish the scan results again.

If you are Jan. 30, then "most likely" you are either already approved, or your approval could be very soon if you are not one of the unlucky skipped cases that we sometimes see.

Another member here spoke to a different support representative and was told that the website gets updated 45 days after a case is touched. You can't trust what those support representatives say. They have a lot of blind faith and get paid to do nothing. :)

Wow! Doesn't surprise me too much. Do you think I should wait another week or so and then look into a congressional inquiry?

Sounds good. I think I'll do the same.

Hey RMaria,  my NOA1 date is also January 30, the petition got approved on May 5 and I got my approval notice on May 13. However, it still says "case received" on the USCIS website. Hope you get your approval letter soon

We have the same NOA1 date. We got an RFE on Apr28 and they received our response on May9. Hoping we get our NOA2 the week of May22. Maybe your NOA2 is already on its way to you. USCIS' tracker is broken.
