After a long anticipated wait I have finally received my pkt 3 from the Montreal us embassy. I have almost all the documents I need from the checklist. Seems to be happening all so fast now. I really hope everyone will hear their approvals very soon. Good luck today guys!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

That is too bad. If you could please send us a message @LolaaBrett when you see that change, so that we can once again regain our trust in governmental software working properly.

@dbmathis is your script scraping the website or is it pulling from other sources like an xml feed that might give us other information besides what the website tool is giving us?

119 days and counting. Ugh

It's pulling from the online checker box. I didn't run it because of the maint. last night, but will run it again tonight or tomorrow morning. I am like others, going to be checking the mail for the next few days.

When I did It last year they had my number by the end of the day they received it so really fast. So try back tomorrow and they should have your number. Thank you

Called back early this morning and got the 3 numbers, I don't know what all the numbers are for, but I told my fiance what they were and she will be scheduling appointments first thing in the morning.

Waiting for my long form birth certificate to come in the mail, waiting for my fiance's bank letter, employment letter and other supporting documents etc. Other than that we are ready. So once you receive the number from nvc you can fill out the DS-160 and schedule an interview? I thought you had to wait until the embassy receives your petition?

Also, when does the medical come into play? Do you have to have an interview set to make a medical appt?

I have seen many members get an interview within 4-5 weeks in the last few months.  So while it might not be the fastest, it's still within reason it seems!

I am from Canada too so I have been paying extra attention to other Canadians and their experiences.

From what I have read it was not only getting the interview, but for the case to say ready, for the packet to be received and processed and once the interview done to get the actual visa :o ! Which normally should only take a couple days, but it was said that with this embassy we couldn't really know how long it would take. But if you say it has been better I really want to believe you! I do not think I can handle another 3 months+ wait after approval...

I think that may be in the past (or I hope!!).  I personally messaged a few people and from what they told me it seemed to be about a week for their case to say ready after getting their number from NVC and that their packet 4 came within a day of submitting packet 3 (although recently I did see 2 people post that it took a few days to receive the packet 4 email).  So hopefully this trend will continue the next few months for us.  Im a mid February filer.

For me in Canada once you receive your case number from the nvc you can start your ds-160. I suggest you do the ds-160 when you're ready they give you 30 days to submit. Unless you save on a file like USB. I wouldn't schedule an interview until you've have completed the pkt 3 checklist and submit the ds-160. Once you've done that they will send you intructions on how to schedule the interview and medical. For me I would need to schedule the interview once I have the confirmation of my interview I schedule my medical as I have to give them the interview confirmation.

Hi I was just wondering about the police certificate. In Ontario, would I just go to a local regional police office and request it there? And is it just for a basic check?

Just go to your local police station and request the basic rcmp data base police check. Bring two pieces of identification with you (health card doesn't count) and a piece of mail as proof of address (they may not ask for this it's just in case). If you know you have a record then you'll have to get the police check for the vaunerable sector. It's around $45 for the basic check and you fill out a small form. They send it in the mail approx two weeks later.
