Wierd. Mine does state it is has been forwarded to the consulate listed and nothing about NVC. What does yours say exactly ?

"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate." Etc

There are approvals today.  I am running a scan today at work, not finished yet but I did see more than 1 approval dated today!!

I followed up by grabbing one of the Case numbers that was approved and entered into my cases on USCIS.gov.  The status there was Approved.

Maybe, just maybe, they are getting things going again.

I'm telling you, it's a trick question. Whether or not a person plans to go to school or not when they get into the USA can't be proven and they don't care if it can be proven in the first place. The entire question is designed to expose people who are using a K1 visa as a way to go to a school in the USA. It's not bad advice at all, in fact in comes from an immigration lawyer with 20 years experience and a Ph.D from Yale. However, if you want to risk going all the way through the process only to get rejected at the end because you think it's fraud, be my guest. It's actually the fraud of using a K1 visa to get into the USA for a school that they are looking for. It's the reason why the question is being asked in the first place. They are not asking these things for friendly conversation.

Here's exactly what my lawyer said (also note that it is not a lie in the way that you answer):

"The following two questions are also sometimes asked:

7.  Do you intend to work in the U.S.?  Answer:  "I have no specific intention to work."

8.  Do you intend to go to school in the U.S.?  Answer:  "I have no specific intention to attend school."

These answers are correct since you do not have work lined up and have not been accepted to any school. Your purpose in coming to the U.S. is to marry your fiancé, and then apply for your Green Card. "

if that is the truth that is fin to say, you dont need to tell them avrything and just make it clear that your mail reason is becasue you love your fiancee. but to tell poeple to lie that is still ba advise. like i says jhust tell the truth in a way that sounds good. but flat out lying that is never a good idea for immegration. And if you ahv it in yoiur haed that you are telling a lie, and your not good at lying then you will look like your lying, and officers are trainnined to see that.

The point is, they ask very specific questions for different situations. All designed to get information from you. The ONLY reason they would ask these questions, are to determine if you have reasons other than marrying your partner for coming to the USA. If they ask you the work or school questions, in this case, say exactly what my lawyers says to say. That is if you want to get approved and be with your loved one. If you feel like it's a lie (which is really isn't and can't be proven), then take the risk. I will not be risking it, and I don't recommend that anyone else risk it either.

It might be good for you. but dont say as advise lie about it. becasue if a nervuers poerson feels nevues about telling something that they consider a lie then you can be the reaosn for there deniel. becasue they look like there lying when they feel like there lying. and then you get misrepresentation with is the nr1 reason for visa denials.
if you can say that with a straight face and feel ok about that then that is fine for you.
But maybe someone that does have a interview for a job lined up already then they cant give that answer your saying.
saying lie is just not good advise. maybe say dont tell them everyting and be selective in how you tell things.

It's not a lie. Even if it was, it can't be proven. It's like asking someone if they plan to have a steak for dinner. You say whatever you want. You don't have to reveal anything that you don't want to reveal. The ONLY reason they would ask these questions, are to determine if you have reasons other than marrying your partner for coming to the USA. If you answer it with "Yes, I am planning to go to school, etc", then be prepared for a possible rejection.

You worry about what you think is good advice, and I will do the same.

This is very true, it is not lying. The fraudulent act will be u planning to move over there with your first intentions to get a job or go to school.

The VISA IS NOT A STUDENT OR WORK VISA. So to even mention any of the aforementioned is not in your interest or your fiancé's.

If asked about you you simply say no I'm migrating to be with my fiancé. Nothing additional, even if they prompt u you repeat the same thing. That is my advice. If u cannot do this I strongly recommend don't waste ur time goin to the interview- it is that serious.

One other point to keep in mind too. There are many examples of the immigration officers at the POE (Port of Entry) that will also ask you the same question about why you are there and if it is not to get married (or you hint otherwise) they will deny you entry and send you back to the country you are from no matter if you have a K1 Visa in hand or not.
