Yeah, that lottery thing is what I am betting on. I have suspected it ever since they posted up the public announcement. My guess is that they are playing catch up and things may normalize over the next week or so.

yeh and just becasue we are still getting RFEsmeans there still working on it so that means to me tehe are also aprovals, becasue you dont know a cas needs an RFE withouth looking at it. makes no sence to look at a case not aprove it just do proces it again later. taht would just be extra work, an i dont think they would do that, its just not beeing updated or sent out yet.

petitioner gets the NAO1 and NAO2 and about a month later (depending on county) the non us gets sent paket 3

so both of you get mail in the end

I just mailed off my consent form to the Senator to have them look into my case.  Hopefully it helps.  I just want them to go through my file and give me an RFE or approval, but I need to know something now. <_<

Thanks for all of the congratulations.

As for those who asked. I faxed my Congresswoman last monday. Tuesday I received a response email. Later in the week I called and requested an expedite for an emergent situation. I cited the increased tensions between the US and N Korea, and given my fiancee lives in Japan, it presents a clear and present danger as well as imminent threat to her safety being well within N Koreas missile capability.

Today as I was leaving work I received an email from the same Congresswoman's office stating my Petition was approved yesterday and that yesterday they mailed out my NOA2. Given from what I have seen NOA2s usually don't get mailed out same day. This leads me to believe my case was in fact expedited.

I still don't think it was expedited because of the wording of the response of your congressman. Also the period of time was too short to pull and expedite a case, don't you think? I still believe there are cases approved not updated in the system.

Nonetheless happy you are moving forward!!! And don't forget to let us know when your statuses change online or u are in a receipt of an email.

I disagree. As I stated the approval noa2 hard copy is rarely ever seen getting mailed out same day as approval. Usually multiple days pass before it is even mailed out as they typically do those things in bundles. I'm not sure why you think there would be anything in the response email that would reveal about an expedite. I never requested an expedite through the congressman office. Expedited can take up to 5 days for approval for the expedite and then 14 days typically or less for case getting  touches after that. Given that I had the inquiry and the expedite request not too far apart it is safe to assume that probably one assisted the other

Feb filer here. I've been looking on December filer page and there seems to be more action on finishing those files off that's left for those cases in December. More touched per day. There's about 200 odd cases for December left un touched. Maybe they are working on December cases and then focusing more on January and February from there. I've also got the app and it tells me when other cases change. There was a few ones yesterday for January. All RFE.

Sighh**

I think they are backlogged with petitions that's why is going so slow. And now the wait is 101 days in average. 😑😔 .

Whatever you do, do not say you intend to work or school at the interview. That's one of the trick questions that they ask. Say that you have no current intent to work or go to school. Your moving to get married.

It's a lie, but they could fail you for telling the truth.

Why not? Could they deny the K1 visa based on that? I know the intention is to marry once you arrive within 90 days, but why can't you tell them your plans? Learning alot on this website that will help along the way, thank you everybody. We hope to get the NOA2 soon 😌

It depends on the wording revolving around the word "INTENT".

If you are asked what is your intent in the USA.  And you say your intent is going to the United States to go to work or go to school, when you are applying for a K1 fiance visa, then that would be bad.

But if you say your intent is to get married, then just leave it at that.  If they ask for plans after marriage there is no reason why you can't say you look forward to building a life in the USA through family, school, and work.

The trick question revolves around INTENT.
