2 days in a row of non production.  This is unacceptable.

We deserve an answer from the service centers, not just speculation on the visa journey forum.

Does anyone know how we can get a fact based answer from the service center??

It seems if you call they just give you a canned answer that they are working on November files, etc.

Is there another way to contact them??

I know its frustrating not seeing any progress being made, but 2 days of non productivity, while unusual, is probably not something we will get an answer for. In the grand overview of things, 2 days isn't that long. If we continue to see this trend the rest of the week, that's when I will start to be concerned. I assume you are correct in that you will get the same standard response if you call and make an inquiry, but its worth trying perhaps.

No chance of getting any kind of information from them ... Unfortunately

They give you a possible time frame of 3-5 months just for the petition process and as long as your petition is within the time frame you wont  be able to get an answer of any questions. :/

Does anyone know if this no production trend has happened before?

I followed the December filer forum during their peak review time and do not recall seeing any non production days.

I recall seeing at least a 2 week time frame of 200+ approvals per day, which is what I was expecting this week and last for Jan filers.

  • 01/24/17 --- NOA1 date
  • 05/03/17 --- RFE notification received
  • 05/10/17 --- RFE response sent
  • 05/12/17 --- RFE response received
  • 05/24/17 --- NOA2
  • 06/22/17 --- NVC case number received
  • 06/26/17 --- Package received at RDJ embassy
  • 07/18/17 --- Interview (APPROVED!)

The first week of January 2017 saw little to no productivity. Sure it was the week after a long holiday, but the CSC was open that week. It was assumed that there was mandatory training going on or something.

There is another resource for assistance outside of USCIS.

The office of Ombudsman is the overseeing agency who assists USCIS applicants in attempt to resolve pending cases

Here's the link on how to contact them:

https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

"If you waited 60 days past USCIS processing times and have tried the USCIS customer service options listed above but still need help resolving a problem with an application or petition, you can ask the Ombudsman’s Office for help...." You have to give them specifics as to the dates you contacted USCIS with your initial inquiry. If USCIS is not responding to your inquiry in a proper manner they will assist getting you a response. Although they state you have to wait 60 days past USCIS processing times, I believe they will investigate your case since they are the responsible agency ensuring USCIS is doing their job.

If you have the time file a case with them and let us know how you make out.

Good luck!!!!!!

My theory of the day for why we saw very little processing recently.

They are in a meeting searching for an answer and can't figure out why they are so far behind. They aren't too bright it seems and they don't realize that the meeting itself is getting them further behind. In fact, a colony of simple insects (ants) appear to have more organization and thinking ability than these folks. The possibility that the chosen system of processing is limiting their ability to solve the problem to a subset of the solution space that does not contain the answer never enters their minds. So that go round and round talking about nothing while cases get further and further behind.

We wish to see how many cases are left on each date on January files.

Thank you in advance..

I can't assume or telling any thoughts about what's happened at USCIS on the last two days. Aduh!:o. I'm not smart enough to understand all of this. My mind can't think that far!.

But I'm happy because all of your post or comments give me good spirits.

I wish all the best for everyone here!

Hey What was ur NOA1 date?

NOA1 was 25th Jan, received 23rd.

I know that we're waaaayyy later than a lot of other people who are waiting from early Jan, or even November and December, but my fiancé and I are getting pretty desperate for the move to happen for various reasons that I won't bore everyone with. Everyone is in the same boat here, I know, but this is the only place I can really vent to people who know what this thing feels like.

I hope everyone gets some good news soon, and that CSC gets back to those pretty high levels of work today!
