What would be interesting to see is average amount of touched cases per day of the week.

While I was waiting for my NOA2 I had an observation that I kept to myself because I wasn't confident it was correct.  That observation was that Monday and Tuesday were RFE concentrated days and Wednesday thru Friday were new Approval concentrated days.

I might still be wrong.  But if anyone has any free time on their hands.  Maybe do a break down of the last 30 days and filter it per day of the week.  How many Approvals vs RFE's per day of the week?

My gut feeling tells me starting today thru Friday productivity will pick up.

And I can't wait for @RJandHamid to get approval after their ridiculously long wait.  Lots late January and now even February filers with frustration but damn, RJ is still a December filer waiting.  So I hope it comes soon RJ!

I can't say I noticed that trend, but you may very well be right. However, what's been going on over the last 2 days is pretty far out of the normal processing trends. There have been a total of 1 approvals for Jan over 2 days, and less than 80 RFE for 2 days. Compare that to the daily totals of around 150 cases touched per day... something is definitely odd.

Thanks for the positive vibes. There are still 300+ untouched December filers waiting with me, so I don't feel so alone. :)

In the past even on days where there was a heavy RFE focus, there were usually more than 0 or 1 approvals. I'm hoping you are right that productivity will pick up over at the CSC!

Could it be that there cleaning up there backlog from  December and november cases, and responding to recieved RFEs?

Unfortunately, there's barely been any Dec activity at all. And even a response to RFE would result in an approval (99% of the time) or a result categorised as 'other'. There's just been next to no activity over the past 2 days in comparison to previous weeks, which is pretty disheartening. I really hope that things pick up and go back to normal today, and that we see a return to the usual levels of activity that we've been seeing lately. Fingers crossed. That's all we can do, I guess!

I wish that. According to November and December scans, there was 1 approval and 2 RFEs sent out for December and 0 approvals and 0 RFEs sent out for November. There were a lot of RFE documents received though, but they have not been responded to.

It definitely would, thanks for sharing that information, @janet3

I had a quick look at the Diversity Lottery dates etc, and it seems that applications are open from October - November... that would also explain why CSC ground to a halt on K1 processing during this period last year. It's all starting to make sense... either that, or I've finally cracked with all of the theories that are floating in my head and I'm just allowing anything to become a tangible reason behind workflow patterns at this point.

That's a good thought. I'm not very familiar with how the DV lottery works, but I don't think the CSC processes those visas. I'm fairly certain that the DOS selects the winners randomly, and from what I can understand on the USCIS website, a small number of lottery winners are processed through USCIS, but only if they are already residing in the USA, so it would be a very small number indeed. Either way, it still is concerning how little progress has been made this week, so I hope whatever might be holding them up is resolved soon.

Another really disappointing report from yesterday.

(Manual searches done via app, Jan cases only)

Approvals: 0

RFE sent: 32

Response to RFE received: 13

Other: 4

I have no idea what is happening at the CSC, but I don't like it.

2 days in a row of non production.  This is unacceptable.

We deserve an answer from the service centers, not just speculation on the visa journey forum.

Does anyone know how we can get a fact based answer from the service center??

It seems if you call they just give you a canned answer that they are working on November files, etc.

Is there another way to contact them??

No chance of getting any kind of information from them ... Unfortunately

They give you a possible time frame of 3-5 months just for the petition process and as long as your petition is within the time frame you wont  be able to get an answer of any questions. :/
