It appears, by all the silence, that few were approved tonight. How disappointing. :( I know I for one will be very interested in seeing the stats for today to see how many touches were done. 1/17 is a fairly large group of applications, and I wish I could see how that group is fairing on approvals and RFEs. Stay strong everyone. We will get past all this waiting .

Long form birth certificate is a more detailed version of a short form (card sized) birth certificate which is what I have.

"Some passport applications require a long form birth certificate which provides the parental information of the subject and more information than a short form birth certificate."

A long form birth certificate is a certified copy of the birth registration. You might need it if you:

  • move to another country
  • become an executor for a foreign estate
  • are adopting a child abroad, or
  • fill out certain citizenship or immigration documents

https://www.ontario.ca/faq/what-type-birth-certificate-needed-passport-application

heres the link I hope this helps. I am not sure if it is required to have a long form birth certificate but I would like to be over prepared than under. More detail means better interview hopefully. 🤗🤗💁🏼

Oh thank you! I am from the Quebec part and we actually do not have the card format you are referring too! So well I only have the long form myself, which I think is indeed the one required from my reading: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Supporting_documents.html

So after I don't even know how many days... NOA1 was on Jan 11th; our petition has been updated - RFE! I don't know if I should be happy that at least our case was finally touched, or I should be disappointed that it means the process would take longer.

Anyways, now we have to patiently wait for the notice to arrive in mail. Our mailing address is still in Canada. So that means it'll take at least a couple of weeks to get here. That's what happened when we received our NOA1. Ughh I was hoping to move down in August. That doesn't seem feasible now.

Do anyone know how long they usually take after RFE's response?

OFFICIALLY APPROVED!!!!!:D

Because of the time difference my fiance is still asleep so he has no idea what he's waking up to! :) This process has been soooo long, so fingers crossed that it starts picking up pace quickly from here on out.

Good luck to everyone still waiting, should be any day now!

Thanks for the response

They said as long as she has valid ID it should be ok

so she has both her and her daughters passport to show

hoping to make it a little easier on her as she still has to do medical as well as interview and getting around Manila is not so easy

So anything I can do to make it easier on her I will do

If I am not mistaken, medical will take 2 days. Some just for one day but most applicants ask to return on the 2nd day. If she is not from Manila, I suggest you book a hotel room for her (one/two night/s). The medical examination starts very early, you don't want to deal with traffic and getting a taxi to get there. There are lots of affordable inn/hotels nearby. It doesn't have to be fancy. Walking distance to ST. Luke is advisable. Try the online deals like Groupon and the likes. Maybe you can hit a jackpot and will get a good promo deal , just make sure it is close by. Use the google maps to find out. Few blocks away isn't bad.

Congratulations! I am sure it will be a very good morning to him. We have almost the same date of NOA 1, but ours is just sitting there. Goodluck on your next steps!

Right! I thought so I wasn't 100% sure but I figured that it may be requested so I'm glad I was right🤣🙌🏼
