You won't have to see any officers except for the interview, of course. Over several months here, I have heard of zero rejections. And, If you talk to them about your love in such a romantic way, they will want to immediately stamp your passport

You just made me smile. Thank you.

Still waiting for NOA2 but we got engaged so soon and my student visa was denied. We're real and I knew from the second I saw him that this is the man I want to marry. I was 6 months in Miami with him and he visits me every 2 months in Germany.  Our lawyer said I shouldn't worry and that there's no reason to freak out. But the last time i was at the embassy for a visa the officers were so mean that i just can't imagine saying them 'you're approved' :(

A lot of young people get denied visitors visas. they are very different from immegrant visa. And for those visas it extually works against you if you are in a relationship with a us citezen. they want to be shure they you just go to study or visit and that you go home after that. And that wil you are there you have mony to spent.
Don't worry Germany is not a high froud rate country, and they will look for very different things for the K1.

That's what I figured after they denied my visa. I was already engaged though and wanted to study first and get married when I'm off for one semester. So stupid because my fiancé was my bank sponsor and of course they would deny it since I didn't plan on coming back. But I wasn't well informed and just stupid. Now we got a lawyer to avoid mistakes like that .. at least they know now that I was already engaged by that time with  him because they saved it in their database thing. Yea I'm really ashamed because of that.

dont feel bad about that, it an honest mistake and it hapens often. I have overstayd once on exident. but i still got a new visa after that. They can tell if you had bad intent or not, almost everyone is nevous at the interview and its easy to make a mistake, The people there are trained, they can tell that you are genuin. And they had good reson to deny your student visa. But they wont hold it against you, at most the will take a few more weeks of processing after the interview to look in to the file of your deniel.

We are with you mbassett! This is one of the biggest challenges we have gone through. Just think in a year from now we'll be laughing about all this. :)

I haven't posted in awhile and forgive me if this sounds silly but I just called the NVC to inquire about my case (seeing if they've received it) they have and the woman on the phone gave me my case # and IN# but I'm not sure what to do from here or with that information. Do I just wait to receive a letter from the embassy and how long does that typically take? Thanks everyone!! 🤗

Did they send you the letter in the mail notifying you their decision? Were you approved?

Yes I received my noa2 on April 3rd **APPROVED** 🙌🏼 So it's been a few weeks. I called to see if they have received it from the uscis. The woman on the phone said they did and gave me my case# and in# but I'm not sure what it means do I wait for the embassy to send me something and if so I don't know how long that takes...just curious.

I just called the NVC and the woman on the phone gave me my case number. But I guess I still have to wait for the embassy. I feel like there's so much to do as well. Confirm all my vaccinations get long form birth certificate and my police clearance check😟Lots to do.

Reading that just calmed me down a little. I really feel like this process is also a 'test' for every relationship and the more you wait the more it kinda drives you crazy and you start overthinking and worrying. you're right, there shouldn't be anything to worry about when the relationship is real. Not sure if you're still waiting for NOA2 but I wish you good luck.

Sorry to everyone else for my non informational posts if you feel like our 'SLO' member, but sometimes you just have to talk to strangers about your fears to feel better. And I do feel better.
