My wedding date was set for more than a year ago, and then we were told to wait to file. We waited and now we are postponing the wedding. We took that decisions month ago as it was very stressful to be in the dark. Now after 102 days more or less well I am happy we cancelled for May 8th because I still do not have my NOA2...Received date of January 10th just got put in a drawer it feels like.

Oh wow, Im sorry to hear that. I hope you guys will receive it soon!

I hope we will still be fine - we will get married in August so that is not entirely unrealistic. The wait for the NOA2 just makes me nervous about our plans.

Boyfriend and Girlfriend on May 11th, 2015 <3

Seem realistic to me at least! I am hoping we can get our second choice of date which is indeed August as well.

Oh well when we looked back then, delays were much shorter and I  was travelling to the US a lot so it could have been an issue. Now all we can do is wait and try to stay optimistic. Which is not always easy. I hope you get your NOA2 soon.

Actually the Trump Wall is off the table now. That will make it better for the chances of getting a short term fix in place to prevent the government shutdown. I know I don't want a two week shutdown like in 2015. You should watch for the Shutdown news on major news organizations. Biased or not they are the most up to date. Saturday is the deadline, for those who don't know. Try not to panic about this. They really don't have a stomach for a shutdown, as it would be bad for everyone.

Ok thanks for details.

Got my NOA1 on January 26 and now waiting NOA2 I hope it's gonna be ok

One question to all of you who got approved the last days. Was the VJ estimate time around the date you got approved?

There are two estimates.  Average time from NAO1 to NOA2 and estimated span of days your petition may be processed.

The VJ averagetime for NOA1 to NOA2 is currently 97 days.

My petition took 104 days to process from NOA1 to NOA2  (NOTE: USCIS receive date and NOA1 date are not the same date)

The VJ estimated timeframe that your petition may be processed is in your timeline at the bottom.

My estimate was April 14th to the 19th.

My actual was April 25th.

So across the board it took one week longer than the VJ estimates for mine to get approved.

It seems like USCIS approval is a big deal on VJ. Does this mean that USCIS is the most difficult stage of the process for most, or what?

Pretty much. It is only difficult because of the waiting process for the USCIS

The wait is a killer, no doubt. For me, it wouldn't be as bad if I knew that the answer was yes at the end of the wait. It's the not knowing that gets to me. Waiting 3.5 months for a possible no is very difficult to live with for me. I've heard people say that the USCIS phase was the most difficult to get approval and then I have heard others say that interview is. I guess it all depends on where a person is migrating from, so it's better to consider averages than what individual people say, or only talk to people who are at the same service centers and interview location.

I feel the Same way. Waiting for months and at the end you don't know what will happen .. it drives me crazy. Things would be so much easier if you would know that you will Be approved at the end and everything will be fine.

Still waiting for NOA2 but we got engaged so soon and my student visa was denied. We're real and I knew from the second I saw him that this is the man I want to marry. I was 6 months in Miami with him and he visits me every 2 months in Germany.  Our lawyer said I shouldn't worry and that there's no reason to freak out. But the last time i was at the embassy for a visa the officers were so mean that i just can't imagine saying them 'you're approved' :(

You won't have to see any officers except for the interview, of course. Over several months here, I have heard of zero rejections. And, If you talk to them about your love in such a romantic way, they will want to immediately stamp your passport
