Depends on the consulate of your fiance's country.

For example in Mexico the consulate average wait is on average 69 days from receipt of Petition to Interview

In the UK the average time is 52 days.

In my fiance's country, the Bogota consulate is on average 42 days.

Thanks. I was reading on the stats page that on average the entire process from start to finish is about 168 days. So even after USCIS approval, still have another 2 - 3 months to wait till VISA in hand, if no issues are encountered. I hope I am wrong, and that after USCIS approval, it's less than a 2 - 3 months wait. This is one I would love to be wrong.

the time after the uscis is very country specific. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/stats.php?cfl=

about 2 weeks to get to ncv and then 1 to get to london, then about 62 days toget interview at london, you can really spead up that last part though, by makinbg shure you have all your paperwork you need tosent to the mebassy to get your interview appointment, like birthcetificate, police records, devorce papers

I've separately analyzed the data for the first several days in January. Results clearly reveal presorting prior to ID and date stamp.  This also puts to rest often repeated theories of random assignment to workers, etc.

Kasu06,

I may have an idea of what you're trying to say but I think you should explain to people, in layman's terms, how you reach your conclusion applications reviews are "nonrandom"

Thanks. Not sure I follow. What document gathering on our end would slow this down and why? Would something hold up the scheduling of the interview?

Each consulate is different, but the general guideline would be after USCIS approval it takes about 2-3 weeks to arrive at NVC.  Then 1 week at the NVC, then 3-5 days to ship to Fiance's consulate.

Upon being received at the consulate (and assuming you know your case number) you can check on the CEAC website everyday when your case is "Ready".

When it is "Ready" it means you may begin your portion of the process which is filling out the DS-160, paying the Visa fee, scheduling fingerprinting, medical exams, and interview.  The faster you do this, the fast you can get your interview, and in turn get your Visa.

Things that can hold you scheduling the interview would be not getting the prerequisites done in time (ie. medical, filling out DS-160, obtaining police records, birth certificate).  Some countries take a very long time to give you the police records.  This could cause a delay.  Luckily for me, in Colombia you can get your police record online.

you collect paperwork on your end when you file and your fiance needs to collect some paperwork onher end for the interview. like the police record, birth certificate and devorce papers, 134 afterdavid of suport.  you will need these papers before you can scedual your apointment at the ambessy.

if you want to have this step move forward faster you can start collecting all the paperwork for that now. and then when she gets the letter she has everything to plan the interview right away.

Here is a link to the page for the londonembassy, you can fnind a list of thigs they require prior to the interview.

Thanks. Are you saying she needs to have proof of the paperwork at the time of scheduling or they will not schedule, or are you saying she can schedule but must have the paperwork at the time of interview?
