Hey everybody!

I'm a January 23 filer and I got a RFE today. So my fiancé and I will try to fix it as soon as possible. We hope for the mail for the end of the week. I was wondering: about how many time can I expect my NOA2 after I send them back for what they ask ? ?

Good luck to all of you! It will come!

Yes it's the received date of NOA1. Don't worry, your turn will come soon! I would prefer to wait two other days than having a RFE, but at least I know. I just hope it will not take to much time and that we will all be approved soon! I think we all deserve it!! So, finger crossed, and soon, who knows maybe today, you will have a beautifull little e-mail with the expected words!

if you look in your timeline it says that a fre in texas adds about 30 days and that your case could be leaving uscis around the end of may.
i dont know how accurate that is.

Yes, I saw that. But I thought that some people have the possibilitie to answer faster to the RFE than others. So I guess it's really a big approximation..... It would be nice to know if california center work on RFE directly after receiving it or not... But well, we will see.

It seems like USCIS approval is a big deal on VJ. Does this mean that USCIS is the most difficult stage of the process for most, or what?

I've separately analyzed the data for the first several days in January. Results clearly reveal presorting prior to ID and date stamp.  This also puts to rest often repeated theories of random assignment to workers, etc.

I don't really understand what you mean?

It's not the most difficult, but it is the longest.  Waiting 100 days doing nothing is an extremely tough stage of the process.  After USCIS approval, things start happening much faster as you no longer are dealing with the USCIS but rather the Department of State for Visa issuance.

I'd say it's not the last thing to worry about, but definitely one of the toughest steps because of the patience you will need to bare. You still have to wait for the NVC to send out your case to your fiancèe's country and having to complete the next big step of gathering all neccessary documents for the interview. I truly don't think the worry will stop until the Visa is in hand, but importantly this will be something to remember for many years with your loved one!

I hope that helps your answer!

So exactly what do you mean by presorting? Are you saying they are picking specific days as the case numbers seem to be concurrent for each of the days and they do not seem to run smoothly together. Just curious your thoughts

yes, it sounds like a good estemate , it takes them about 10 days to get the RFE to you, then you will have to get what they need and sent it back wich takes about another 7 days. then it has to end up at the right desk and then be prosesed.

i think if you can get the right information right away you will still take about 3 weeks

Thanks. I was reading on the stats page that on average the entire process from start to finish is about 168 days. So even after USCIS approval, still have another 2 - 3 months to wait till VISA in hand, if no issues are encountered. I hope I am wrong, and that after USCIS approval, it's less than a 2 - 3 months wait. This is one where I would love to be wrong.

Depends on the consulate of your fiance's country.

For example in Mexico the consulate average wait is on average 69 days from receipt of Petition to Interview

In the UK the average time is 52 days.

In my fiance's country, the Bogota consulate is on average 42 days.
