Salaam Everyone,

Just thought I'd introduce us since we're new here at VisaJourney. I am happy to have discovered the MENA forum, as its always nice to have a community in which to share ideas and experiences related to the immigration process. I'm originally from Louisiana, but I live in Houston, Texas. My fiance is from Fes, Morocco. Here's a brief history/timeline:

July 22, 2006: Iysha has Shahada/Enters into Islam (on my 29th birthday Alhamdulillah!)

August 26, 2006: Driss and Iysha meet online

November 23, 2006: Driss and Iysha meet in Person for the first time in Morocco (I will never forget that big, warm, soul-quenching smile of his that greeted me at the train station!)

November 25, 2006: Driss Proposes to Iysha. (Thank You Allah!)

December 26, 2006-January 1, 2007: 2nd trip to Morocco

February 28, 2007: Mailed I-129F to Texas Service Center (transferred to California....for some reason)

March 2, 2007-March 16, 2007: 3rd trip to Morocco

March 9, 2007: NOA 1

Sorry about the drab black text color, but I can't seem to get the text font color button to work on my Macintosh!

I really enjoy reading the posts here; They are informative, inspirational at times, and so funny other times. InshaAllah I look forward to meeting others and sharing thoughts. Does anyone here hang out on the weekends at that hookah/shisha place Cafe Layal in Houston to listen to the live Arabic music?

Ma Salama,

iysha

Asalaam Aleykum Everyone.

I am new to this site. Let me give you a bit of background information on my situation. I am Mexican-American, from California & my now husband is from the beautiful country of EGYPT. In June 2008, I met Mohamed, online "Alhamdidullah". In July 2009, I travel to Egypt, meet him and all of his family (extended included) & we get married "Alhamdidullah". To make my story short for everyone, we originally wanted to pursue the K3 route and in:

August 2009 - I sent our I-130 package

September 2, 2009 - Receipt Notice for I-130 Received

September 18, 2009 - I send our I-129F pakcage.

September 25, 2009 - Receipt Notice for I-129F Received

September 26, 2009 - NOTICE OF APPROVAL for I-130 Received "Alhamdidullah"!

Now, I find myself so confused because I have read many threads in this forum, where people say that if your I-130 gets approved before your I-129F, then that one should forgoe the K3 Visa route and go with the CR1 Route instead; because the I-129F will get denied in the end. So, why waste the time waiting and hoping to see if the I-129 will be approved when it may not & besides I hear the CR1 Route is a better option in the end...Yes, it may take a few extra months than the K3 but I read it is all well worth the wait and it's cheaper too. :D

I am still in a bit of doubt and confusion and hope some of the members, that share my situation can offer me some insight on this dreadful situation. Should I abandon the K3 route? HELP.

I am missing my husband so much and this is killing the both of us. The waiting game, is such a long one but we remain hopeful just to see how fast our I-130 was approved and now being forwarded to NVC. Please advice.

I hope and ask "Allah" to help us in this hard and trying process, to give us the patience needed to see this thing through...But I can't help but to feel our seperation..... :crying:

PLEASE HELP US...
