We can agree you have no clue on the Embassy in Manila. We can agree I do

You can agree on that.

You have ONE experience, and although embassies are known to do things differently they don't randomly ask you to comply with a 221g request for a document they do not want.

I see this all the time. Passing through an embassy although giving you experience, does not mean you can speak for the embassy. The embassy has communicated their requirements to OP. That is the only indisputable fact here.

It is helpful for the OP to note that Manila has been known to just change procedure on the fly and it is absolutely possible that they gave you the passport back because they know it will take a while (as all other embassy's do). Manila has gone from a non-cosponsor K-1 place to a place that hasn't even been asking for the I-134 within a less than 6 months span. It used to be one of the hardest financial places to pass, now people can breeze on through. It's possible that their stances on passport holding and "221g with consideration"'s have changes within the last few months as well.

If anything, ask in the Philippine forums for RECENT updates on those who may have received a 221g WITH CONSIDERATION (the 221g that asks for specific documents), who have received their passport backs, turned in their documents, and their approval rate from that.

Note: I didn't go through the Philippines obviously, but it's not hard to read everyday stories on VJ and be able to learn what the current going-on's are over at that embassy.

Every embassy or consulate works different and handles specific things also different. If you know nothing about the procedure in a certain country, please don't advice. It's good to help but let's not confuse OP more.

This is getting really of topic, and as you are mentioning not helping OP.

That said, not going through a specific embassy does not make the advice regarding a returned passport and a received 221g moot, just as going through a specific embassy does not automatically validate your advice either. My advice was universal and I will not be told not to advice when I believe I have good valid advice to give. I find your comment very patronising. That will be all.

This is how it look likes when i check the status of it. Though theres a change before it was nov 14 (date of our k1 interview) now its dec 28, date when they sent the appointment letter for crba. During the k1 interview the consul said my visa would be put on hold until i submit the crba which we recently got approved of. Also I think it would be ironic if they would get me a denial when theyve already approved us for he crba right? Without even DNA testing.  I mean that itself means we have established a genuine relationship with a child of our own so it really gonna be weird if they deny the fiance visa. Thats just what i thin

Hi Monsterbys,

I know its been quite awhile since this topic was updated but I am on the same situation right now. I would like to ask if you were able to get your fiance visa, how long did it take for the approval and deliver? I hope you can still reply as I am really stressed out waiting. Thanks a lot!
