depends how much time is inbetween filing for AOS and attending your interview. if it's greater than 6 months, i would bring a new one (with supporting docs) with you OR if any info has dramatically changed (employment, income, etc).

Sometimes people are asked for the I-864 form when they are at the AOS interview, and sometimes they aren't. This is typically true if there's been a long delay between the time of filing and the time of the interview; or there are likely to be changes; or the wages were different at time of filing from present.

Not all people need it, but if your interview is around the time or after tax filing time, it's probably a good idea to fill it out again -- though you probably don't need notarization.

I think an updated employment letter and paystubs would suffice. On our interview, the officer asked for an updated letter of employment but we gave her an entirely new I-864 since we are using a co-sponsor now that the hubby has quit his job to write.

If nothing has changed - then you may be OK with up to a 6 month old I864 (my rule:LOL:) I had submitted the AOS application in mid October with the I864 done in early October and the Income letter from September. All I was asked was if anything had changed and I told him "No everything is the same except for a small raise scheduled for March." Nothing else was asked about the I864. Good Luck

thnx guys!

But do you think that my husband could just bring a letter from Management saying how much he makes, how many hrs/wk he works, what he does, and how long he's been in the company for?

Could that be enough? We filed 18mths ago, but the info really hasn't changed much, if not nothing..

i didn't bring my "updated" I-864, but i brought them 3 months straight worth of paystubs, 3 months worth of joined bank statement, 3 months worth of bills and canceled checks where the checks showed both our names.

our 2005 Income Tax Return filing. Done!

put together the info and get it notarized.

No need to get it notarized; if you are taking it to an interview, the interviewing officer can notarize it.

Save a step. :)
