Had my interview the same day as you. Did you status changed to "in line for oath" yet? If it did, when?

I just got a notification TODAY - the date is in the mail.  So it's coming in a few days.  I probably will know the date by this Friday.  I just hope it doesn't fall on the dates that I am out of town for a conference (July 21 to 28).

13 LONG days!  I think not having passport photos really messed it up!  If I had the passport photos on the interview date, I probably will get a notification shortly after.

July 16 or 18 would be GREAT and PERFECT!  Just before I go off to New Orleans and to Canada!  The issue is I won't have time to get an American Passport - will they accept my Canadian Passport and the certificate?  Or Should I bite the bullet and get an expedited passport?

You have to use an American Passport to enter US, if you're an American Citizen or they might fine you. If you become a citizen on July 16 or 18th, than you might be able to get an American Passport. You have to see if there is an appointment available. If there is head there and show proof of travel and you might even get your passport the same day.

head to this website and see if they have any appointments after you become a citizen but before your travel.

My GC expired as of June 7.  So I cant use it.  I guess I'd have to get an American passport :)

Did you have your interview at Fairfax or Alexandria?  Let me know of your date - we might have the same oath ceremony date!  I will be the one with an interpreter.  Looks like the oath will be fairfax, VA . but I also saw that someone had it at a high school.

You need a passport to enter - it's the only way you can prove you are an American.  The issue that I have such a short time to get the passport - before blackouts at work kicks in or I won't get any vacation at all because kids will be back to school. I hope to travel on the first week of August.

I have Infopass appointment next Friday to inquire about this but now I don't think I need to keep the appointment and probably will cancel it as it gets closer and once I know the oath date is.

topazfae, where is your residence? VA or DC?

No, you shouldn't use Canadian passport + US nat. certif. Although, the entry/leave with CAD pass is recorded differently than for other citizens (no I-94)

I knew someone who is dual US/CAD (he never discloses this at POE), and he sometimes uses CAD to enter and leave US. He's never had issues, but I wouldn't do that.

I live in VA (woodbridge).  I know if you reside in DC, you go to to DC courthouse for the ceremony.  My friend who is a DC resident and went to the courthouse.  While VA, it's different.

That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Wait time for oath for DC residents.
