I didnt know about 6 month renewal rule... in that case i am really not sure what will they say... you can apply for it if you want to be on safe side... chances are though that you will have interview before it expires and if it is calid I don't think immigration officer should have any problem...

also i was stupid to not fill this form whatever it is g-1145 or whatever so i wont be receiving text and i am waiting for first reply to get my case no... hopefully it comes soon...

@weakheart Yes are exactly same dates bcz my package was delivered to USCIS on 11th Jan early morning via FedEx. And Yes i filled out all the forms I.E

G-1145 , G-1450 and our money was accepted by USCIS on 17th Jan . But i haven't received any text or email yet .

dont worry at all....i just read it on uscis official website which states you can renew green card if your current one is expiring within 6 months...that means you cannot even apply more than 6 months ago which makes sense as it would be too early....here is link of uscis official website talking about renewal...

so nothing to worry about....if you are going with a valid green card into inteview it is a non issue

you can ask immigration officer during interview if he/she thinks you  should you renew it....but if you are too much worried to do this....call uscis customer service no. 18003755283....choose greencard option and talk to representative...you may need to hold for 30 minutes depending how busy they are ....ask a simple question if you should renew it now, wait couple months to see how fast citizenship process going or you dont need to renew it at all as you already have citizenship application in...they are very helpful now a days customer service at uscis is pretty good...i have called them 3,4 times..

  one thing is sure you cannot even apply for renewal if you have lets says 6 months and 5 days remaining on your current one so dont worry

@weakheart  Today i have received NOA via Text & Email , But when i check case status it says it was received on 17th . Below is the status of my case.

 

 

 

On January 17, 2017, we received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*****, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by February 13, 2017, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. Also thanks for informing me.... the reason i am a bit worried is that i have different mailing adress than current physical adress... and I don't want them to make mistake and send it to  different adress ( which I don't think they would) but since I didn't file g1145 so there is no other way of knowing the status...so if i dont get letter within few days when you get... i would like to call them to get the case no, if it will be available...

just thinking down the road....immigration process makes me crazy ... lol

Hello can you please add me please,  i used USPS on the 01/10/2017, GC date 04/07/2014, package sent to Phoenix PO BOX, check cashed on the 01/18/2017. Thank you.
