here is an interesting news from the Chief SC Justice statement about simple violations (ex. not mentioning the traffic violations, and other minor stuff in N400 application) which the Chief SC Justice feared about stripping the US citizenship naturalization that could haunt the naturalized citizen several years later. In short i answered all of them right away . He also gave me a paper to read loud which was saying ( When is columbus day ?) He said i want you to write down that ( Columbus day is in October ) no additional document was requested . At the end of interview the officer handed me the paper N-652 says Congratulations your application has been recommended for approval . We hand shook and i left the office . 

 

Awesome thanks for the experience! My husband has his interview tomorrow morning and I was just worried if they will ask for more documents than the ones we had already sent with the N400. In your experience it seems they didn't ask for much documents.

Doesn't seem to be that way now..at least for San Francisco. I applied based on marriage and I meet the 3-year rule exactly. I'm still here, staring at the same In-line message, silently willing for it to change. (I'd like to get this all over and done with by September to fly for my dad's 60th birthday)

Exactly , so do I.. I applied on 3-year rule  with GC - 4 months after 3rd anniversary and from Feb 8 in line till now.. no any movement.. soon will be for me 4 months since I sent N-400 .. but I know that Tampa is very busy , I don't expect any letter in Apr/May ..

I also applied under the 3-year rule and I haven't gotten my appointment letter yet. I have been "in line" for more than one month now.

 

It is going to be interesting to see how close my appointment letter is from  Joe&Luma.  We both filed at the Tampa Office.  Joe&LuMa's NOA is date is  01/13 and mine is 01/30. 

 

Also, looking at the N400 January 2016 filter  (last year), pretty much everyone got their interview letter in April and the oath by May and June. 

Hopefully, we will get our interview letters soon.

i wish i applied last year......almost all of the january filers got their interview letters in april, a few in march, a few in may, etc. but almost all got their interview scheduled in april.....
this year, the majority of even december filers are still waiting......at least two months delay this year.....

I don't even the see point for a interview? They have all the information they need. and same with the oath. I mean will having someone take the oath prevent them from not doing something that they aren't suppose to do? But again, I am only in my early 20's. Maybe my point of view is different than the elder people who created these policies?

They want to know that you: 

(1) can understand basic English; which is the "most commonly used" language in the USA (I put double quotes on it because commonly used language depends on which area you live in)

(2) know US history, politics, and culture; which makes sense because why would you want to be a citizen of a foreign country you know nothing about? (Pretty similar to choosing a spouse or business partner - you don't want a binding contract with someone you don't really know)

Right, but you be able to go to a community college, library or DMV and just take the test there. Does't make sense to wait months for a interview. But I guess we don't have a choice.

in uk you go to some other institutions outside immigration which are approved by immigration and you do your tests there and they give you certification which is required for immigration process, also they have the option  to pay extra fee and you can do walkin whole process. What it does is that few extra immigration officers get hired as customers are paying for it also it relieves extra burden on officers that are doing process on normal speed applicants. Any where you can have some private work done is usually faster and efficient than government doing it. in rest of developed world , process is quicker and transparent, however in usa both political parties agree that immigration system is broken but improvement is slow, which gives headache to not only people working for uscis but also people going through the process

In comparison, for instance, ups schedules millions of pickups from houses and buisnesses each day, no problem doing it in this age and time with computer and technology,   On other hand it can months in order to complete scheduling of interview in uscis at times even when background check is completed and cleared. 

    Well, still, i can wait and go through that headache because i so much want to be in this country and I love usa, I believe we all do
