My USCIS office is St Albans in Vermont, I can't imagine them being very busy with naturalisation cases. I'm assuming thats why it went so quickly.

Not necessarily, I had my fp at a support center. They only do biometrics, nothing else case related. You can look up the address where you did your fp, the uscis site has lists of what services each office provides. For interviews I have to go to downtown LA usually

Some big states and cities have mutiple offices... most dont... thats why i said with few exceptions

I think the "support center" is more for biometric sample collections whereas USCIS office is where you go for an interview. In smaller locations, they may not have a "support center" and do biometrics at the same place as well.

It seems like sometimes it might pay off moving to places like this several months beforehand and then apply from there. I see people from large metropolitan areas waiting and waiting.

Thanks for the info, i did my FP too in support center, thats why i was wondering because its small, i dont think they do interviews there,

I got my in line for interview notification (03/07/17). Not bad taking only 2 working days to get my background check done. I am vetted every year for hubby's federal/gov't security clearance checks so we know I don't have any unknown issues will update in a few.

Elisar, I went to the application support center in Gardena, it is literally 3 lines of chairs, 3 or 4 fingerprint machines with camera stands, and the check in desk (and a few clerical desks), not much bigger than our drs office. It's a 5 min drive from our apartment so not as bad as having to haul a toddler downtown with me
