Tampa filers care to share your experience of your interviews? Greatly appreciated

Hi Tampa filters :)

We arrived 1 hour before ceremony started. Just after security check (directly in front ) was a big room , spcially designated for the event. The door was open, but we were instructed to form a line but not to go into room. 2 officers started to collect our GG and letters with invitation. Both officers were dressed formaly for the ocassion in suits and ties. Abt 30 min bef , they let us to enter the room giving us assigned seats so they knew exactly which seat you were in order to give you your correct ceritficate , which was handed out at the end of the program.  On each chair was a small American flag and a package which outlined the event.

Families were directed to sit either left or right of central section (which was reserved for applicants only).

There were 69 applicants representing  35 countries.  The  ceremony began punctually at 1 PM.: video presentation ( Faces of America) , we sang National Anthem, then assembly and presentation of candidates for naturalization by calling countries ( after hearing our country call , we had to stand up and remain standing), and music video presentation " America the Beautiful " (  very emotional, people were chocked up emotionaly)

Finally we came to Pledge of Allegiance..

After that, each new citizen was congratulated and handed the certificate of citizenship. Because of prearranged seating, officers came where we were seated, so we did not have to go to the podium, they called our names was we exited the row, shook our hands and handed each of us our new citizen certificate. After that everyone was joined with their family members for pictures in front of flag or statue of liberty replica. We were instructed not to take pictures of our certificates and publish it on the social media since it contains very private and important personal information that can be copied or stolen and used in identity theft.

I really must say that the program was very well organized, everything went smoothly.  It was interesting and moved quickly.

We had to vacate the room at 2:15 because there was another program starting at 3:00PM.

Hope this helps and gives you a good idea of what to expect.

Good  luck on your coming big day!

When you look at the progress of people who filed in January 2017, you would think everybody should have had their interview scheduled by now. You can see in the other months forums that many people filing after January, in Feb-May have taken the oath! I wonder if the January outliers have simply failed to report here, or if they know why it is taking so long to get the interview.     Some Field offices seem quicker than others, like Boston and Louisville.   I will stick around to see the stragglers get through. There's several oaths coming up in September!

Mine is not moving at all((( More than that, I had to move to Utah, so I don't know how much longer it will take now. I filed a change of address form online on August 22 and then called USCIS to confirm that they got it 4-5 days later. The officer told me just whatever I can read myself (in line for an interview). Does anybody know if the change of address should appear in my case history on the cite or how else could I check that they've actually got it?

Thank you!

That's awesome and it sound pretty straight forward. I was actually concerned about the interview process and not the oath ceremony. 😋

Hello, my case is not moving whatsoever as well. Last updated was back in Feb-17 when they took my FP. InfoPass, online request and 1-800... did not helped at all.

So, will just patiently wait I guess.

According to your address update, yes it should be reflected in the case history when you login to your USCIS account. I filled my N400 in Jan-17 but in Mar-17 we bought a house. So in 10 days I sent address change request to the USCIS and they confirmed that the address has been changed in their records.

2. What is the political party of the President now?

3. What are the two major political parties in the United States?

4. Name one state that borders Mexico

5. There were 13 original states. Name three.

6. Whi wrote the Declaration of Independence?

We   veryfied  my personal information and a few questions from NO, but all questions from YES.

Finally I received the Naturaliation Interview Result with information that my application is recommended for aproval.

Sorry :D mea culpa :D:D:D

Here  is my old post,  from Aug15. Is this sufficition for what you need ? or you need more details??

" Hi,

just short description of my interview yesterday in Tampa.

Questions:

1. who is the Commander in Chief of the military?

The officer was nice and  generally it was  really pleasant experience ( whole interview lasted abt 20 min)

Good luck to all of you, still waiting :D"

Ah, ditto. (I can't remember all the questions, but it was just six out of the possible 100. Nothing tricky) My interviewer was very pleasant, but business like and ran through my application at a break-neck speed. I just had to confirm all basic personal info, and the NO questions, and I think all of the YES questions too. Also, as I had mentioned in an earlier post, she asked me for passport photos, and had me sign them on the FRONT. (weird). My wife was being interviewed at the exact same time in another room but her interviewer never asked for photos. I'm not sure what would have happened if I didn't have the photos with me. Maybe place my application on hold? Good thing I had them! (So I would recommend popping into CVS or Walgreens and getting your photos done.)

Overall, the interview seems to be the easiest part of the whole process. I too was quite nervous, but I don't know why. In just 15 minutes it was all over, and my interviewer gave me a form that showed I was "recommended for Approval".

Yup - still the same here as well...  I'm "patiently" waiting for the latest "Processing Time Information" posting from the USCIS; as of Jun 30, Buffalo NY was processing from Jan 11 - up from Dec 10 the month before.  I had attempted to call asking for a status, based on the fact that you should be able to extrapolate the current processing point from the previous two months, and was told that I was calling too soon since it was within the normal processing time.  Person on the phone said that since the page had been updated as of "today", it was current, without taking into account the statement on the top of the table showing the "as of" date...  :)

In any case, I figure that by the middle of the month when they publish new dates, I should be past the date where they should have gotten to my application, and I may be able to get some information...  Who knows though....

Sorry to hear that Kris...

I have a bad feeling that in Jan-18 I would have to contact a state Senator in order to make the case moving. This is insane to see people that assigned to the same IO as you do, and they already got their citizenship and you are not even in line for the interview.

This waiting times makes me tired, I'm not even sure now, if I would be as happy as I could be once they eventually schedule my interview...

Right now I am kind of in "Ok mode", what ever will be, will be... So, I am ready for Jan-18 option lol :)

I know my case is still "within processing times" for Denver field office. But I went to the senator's office and filled out a release form enabling the senator's office to inquire about the status of my case. Let us see what they will be able to find out. They may get the same "within processing times" answer, but I think it won't hurt to try.

i never imagined this ####### will take so long. my original plan was to get the citizenship, marry my non-citizen fiance and apply for her green card.
i kept delaying the wedding only for so long and then had to go ahead and marry without the citizenship. now baby is on its way.....and she can't stay with me while she pregnant because she does not have a green card.
I am beyond frustrated with this "system".

i kept delaying the wedding only for so long and then had to go ahead and marry without the citizenship. now baby is on its way.....and she can't stay with me while she pregnant because she does not have a green card.
I am beyond frustrated with this "system".

First, congratulations on the wedding and baby!

The wait is getting pretty frustrating.  Let us know what you hear back from the Senator.
