Our case was reaffirmed and is now back at the Embassy. We are checking the web site daily for an appointment to open up. It's been a long hard journey, but one I would do all over again for my husband. Just a word of advice, if you get denied, don't get in a hurry to be reaffirmed, it's a slow process. My husband was denied on Aug 17, 2016 and we are not now back at the embassy for a second interview. Hang in there!

That is awesome! I'm so glad to hear it. I know you have been waiting a long time. And you are so right. It's a slow process, but you don't know what you don't know when you're first starting. Everything seems so urgent and you just can't imagine the process was ever going to take that long. Good luck on your interview. You should hear from them shortly on an appt. I wouldn't worry about the dates online. They will make room for reaffirmations! Let us know when you get that date so we can send all praises up for you. Your about to be together soon, just a little while longer :)

We have been waiting for the CSC to let us know SOMETHING about our returned case that they have had since April 6, 2017. What started out with them telling us 180days/6months, went to 1 year from the date they received it back, until now, they are saying 18+ months for a decision. I have contacted 2 senators, made info pass appointment, asked for case expedite, thought about withdrawing and starting over, asking for a case transfer, also considering Ombudsman request. I am full of emotions, and really don't know what is the best route for us.:help::cry::bonk:

Hello CaseyKim

Do NOT withdraw and resubmit, it would be a disaster to your case. If they have had it since April of last year then it has been exactly 1 year that they have had your case. You are within the timeframe it usually takes to hear back from them. Most of us here as long as i have been online here (3.5 years) its been 13-18 months to hear back from them after they receive the case back from Ghana and some of us was reaffirmed right away and others received a NOIR. Those that received a NOIR once you get the info back to them i've only seen it take about 60-90 to hear back and get a new interview date. So just hang in there. I know this waiting period is the hardest. You feel as though your hands are tied, and no matter who you call you keep getting the same BS answers with no real solution. And that's because they are only going to go as fast as they are going to go. There is no one to expedite for you. So at this time, my suggestion is to sit back and relax and if you do not hear from them in the next 3 months or so, maybe up to 6 then you should be worried, but i have a feeling you will hear from them very soon.  For my husband and i, he was denied in July 2015 NVC received it back in January 2016 and USCIS got it back in February of 2016. We didn't hear anything back until March 2017 letting us know we were reaffirmed and then in June of 2017 the interview letter for August 2017, so from the denial to the resolution to get the new interview was a total of 21 months. From the time the USCIS got it to getting the letter of reinstatement was 13 months.

Info pass  appointment will be a complete waste of your time. All they are going to do is tell you exactly what they tell you by phone. They too cannot give you any more information than what is in the system at this time and that is your case is back, but it has yet to be actually processed. I wouldn't even keep that appointment, i'd cancel it.  I went there twice before realizing it was just causing me hours from work.

But again, you are within the time frame, you haven't been forgotten about. Just hang in there a little longer.

I have turned the paper work in at the end this month, I am waiting to get reaffirmed. Everything they asked at the interview was on NOIR. So if you think back to your interview this can help with get proof for your NOIR. I hope I sent in enough evidence I really miss my hubby.

Greetings,

Please take a look at my timeline to get an example of the process.  We were put on Administrative Review in December 2015 and got approval October 2017.  It seems when a petition is places on Administrative Review, it takes an average time of 2 years to get reaffirmed.  The good part was that my husband received a 10 year green card when he arrived in the usa, as we had been married three years by the time it was finally approved.  Just hang in there a little longer.  It is a very stressful process, but it will work out through your patience and dedication to your relationship.  I have found that the senators, ombudsman, lawyers really cannot do anything to speed the process.  Their actions are very limited.  You and your spouse have to 'prove' your case.  I would advise you to start writing a rebuttal and gather more supporting documents and affidavits from friends/family so you will be prepared when the NOIR arrives.  KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND HEART OPEN.
