Ge is anyone here file his /her tax returns with their spouses with an itin number , just want to know how it works. I just received the transcript for ours.

I have filed jointly w my husband for the last 3 years w an itin number for him.   You apply for a number - I believe the form is W7 you will need copies of their passport and ID. It takes about 6 weeks to get.  You can amend your taxes back three years if you've been married that long also.

@dmh59 thanks my sister, I did apply and IRS issue my husband itin# on June 6 this yr, so I amended the 2015 taxes from head of household to joint and 2016 we file joint, so I request for the tax transcript and received it today. But my 2014 remains head of household. Because our marriage was Jan 2015. So I guess we are okay.

Yes you use the itin like a social security number and just file, you can amend it also it saves a lot

Thanks @Jenilyn and Awal I did amend my 2015 and we got a refund. But 2016 we owe so I'm making payments. Lol I make so much money, that's why I confront the co in 2015 claiming we need joint sponsor I was like did u really check my income shame. She didn't look at any of the documents seems like she made up her mind even before the interview. Thank God we've overcome with her bogus and lies.

Give thanks to the Most High! Positive light is definitely shining through. Let us continue to pray for a bit more mercy.  I am loving to hear about all of these final approvals!

Ge my vj members  , my husband has gone for the interview package our interview date is Oct 17th 2017. @Boohene102314 two weeks after urs,  but I have a question about the list. Should my husband take along birth certificates of all unmarried children who will not immigrate with him to the interview? Because we don't know if it's applied to us, we just want to make sure. Thanks and stay blessed. 😍😍

This is just my opinion - since they are not migrating I'd say you wouldn't need them. BUT, I'd take them with me just in case.  IKD if that helps u or not.  Anyone else have an opinion?

I agree.  I would bring it just in case they ask for them.  But its not needed.  Its only needed if his kids were migrating also.  And be careful with that because if they find out he has kids in Ghana that can be a red flag.  So I personally wouldnt tell them that he has kids staying in Ghana.

@trustG, so happy to hear about the interview date!!  Getting closer each day!!  Your husband only needs his own birth certificate.  Also, you do not need to pay the $325 fee.  I received an email from the embassy confirming that reaffirmed petitions do not require another fee.   They really need a different form for reaffirmed petitions in order to be clear in what you need.  Each case is so unique.  Congrats everyone for hanging in there for love's sake.
