Hi - I have been in the USA for nearly one year...  I shipped the bulk of my possessions over with NO CUSTOMS CHARGE as personal possessions for K1.

Does anyone know if this right expires after a certain period?   I have  few more things I would like to ship over.

Thanks for your advice

I know when my husband had his stuff sent, he had to provide a copy of his visa showing he was here in the states. I'd imagine you would use your green card as proof of lawful and living presence in the US. You're basically paying no duty because it's your own items and you're saying you live here, just need proof you live here at the end of the day.

I don't think there's a limit, as long as you can prove you're here legally and live here.

You have 10 years to move your stuff duty free.  1 year for a vehicle.
